The Effectiveness of Warren Village in Providing
Alternative Housing Options
Jacqueline Schaefer, intern at Warren Village Housing Department
Supervised by Elizabeth Davey, Housing and Development Manager
Purpose: To empower single-parent
families that are homeless to gain
financial and personal self-
sufficiency by providing lists of
alternative housing options
Significance: To have a better
understanding of the population
using Warren Village as a resource
in finding alternative housing
options. More people will have
housing and less people will have to
face homelessness.
Outcome: The data showed that
Warren Village had out of date
resources that were not
comprehensive in their resources for
certain groups such as: women
under 18, families with two parents,
and undocumented residents
Methodology: Administer
a spoken survey to
individuals to better
understand their
background.
1. How old are you? Are
you over 18 years of
age?
2. Have you graduated
from high school or
do you have a GED?
3. Do you have a valid
form of ID? Yours and
your child/ren’s social
security card and
birth certificates?
4. Are you in a safe place
/ do you need
emergency housing?
