Walt Disney was born in Chicago in 1901 and showed an early interest in art. He pursued art in high school and enjoyed nature. During WWI, Disney served as an ambulance driver in France. After the war, he founded Walt Disney Studios and created successful animated shorts like Alice Comedies. Disney married Lillian Bounds in 1925 and they had two daughters. His studio produced the first animated feature film Snow White in 1937 and other classics like Pinocchio and Bambi. Disney opened Disneyland in 1955 and became a pioneer in television production. He also produced educational documentaries and oversaw the development of Walt Disney World in Florida.
