Walt Disney was born in Chicago in 1901. He took art classes and drew cartoons from a young age. After serving in the army in World War I, he started his career as a commercial artist and animator. In 1923, he created Laugh-O-Gram Films and later co-founded Disney Brothers Studio with his brother Roy and Ub Iwerks. There, they created many successful animated shorts, including those starring Mickey Mouse. Walt Disney went on to found The Walt Disney Company and fulfill his dream of building Disneyland amusement park.
