The Black List - Vol. 1 - Social Media MastersMichael Street
A list of top African-American voices in the social media space. So in order to drive awareness of the vast array of diversity in tech and social media space we have created 'The Black List.' Use this as a directory of who's who in the tech, startup, and social media business.
In the new world of business information flowing “outside in” instead of “inside out,” every entrepreneur or small business has to pay attention to not only the information on their own website but also the information on the internet. Searching for yourself on Google is no longer narcissistic, but a business requirement.
Are you paying attention to buzz about you and are you going to be “liked” “poked” or “buzzed”? Where do you start? How much time do you spend and is building a new media “you” this really worth it?
Drawn from his career as a chef to his role as a new media expert, Shashi has the answers. This session may be the final straw that breaks your resistance to open your profiles and let the world know why you and your business rocks – maybe all in 140 characters!
Dit artikel is een samenvatting van mijn presentatie over het toepassingskader voor Webrichtlijnen versie 2 op het Nationaal Congres Digitale Toegankelijk 2013. Het bevat het uitgeschreven verhaal en de slides.
No, not Frodo. His will shredded like wet toilet paper. Gollum took the lava bath, destroyed the ring, and saved everyone from a 36" Dark Lord. Does he get any credit? Nooooooo. Nine-fingered Frodo is the hero. The ladies all swoon at Legolas and Aragorn. But not poor Gollum.
Internet marketers, and SEOs in particular, are a lot like Gollum: We're shunned. We don't get much sunlight. Our diet is awful. And we never get the credit for business success.
It's our fault. We're good at building rankings and building traffic. But we're terrible at demonstrating the value of our work. So we fling ourselves into the lava. Every single time.
presented at the Kansas Library Association Conference, Wichita KS, April 8th 2010.

We take great pride in sharing with you, Vignettes 2013 – 14, the Year in Review.
Last year, we encapsulated one year of learning at Inventure Academy in a Power Point
Presentation. We called the presentation, Vignettes 2012-13. While we found the task quite
challenging, we also found it extremely self-affirming. Last year’s Vignettes was so well received,
that we have decided to make it an Annual Report / The Year in Review, with wonderful pictures
and links to relevant articles and videos.
If you really think about it, Inventure Academy does it all - academics, life skills, field / outbound
trips, guest lectures, internships, music, sports, dance and drama. All the activities, recorded for
posterity in Vignettes 2013-14, hold an important place in the spectrum of education and life
long learning at Inventure, underpinned by our Core Purpose and Core Values.
Thank you for being proactive partners in the education of our children. We hope you enjoy
Vignettes 2013-14, as much as we loved producing it.
