This document summarizes findings from a survey of over 4,600 publicly insured adults in Minnesota. It finds that while providing health insurance increases access to care, barriers still result in disparities. Even after controlling for differences, some ethnic groups reported more barriers related to costs, access, and providers not understanding their culture. Reporting bigger problems was linked to higher odds of delayed, forgone, or no preventive care. Suggested solutions focused on improving access to plan information through simplified outreach and help resources.
Sixteenth Sustainable Development Conference 2013Maryam S. Abbasi
This document summarizes information about the Sixteenth Sustainable Development Conference (SDC) organized by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI). It provides details on the structure and participation at the conference including 2 plenary sessions, 27 panels, 122 speakers, and over 2500 total participants. Participation spanned 16 countries with the majority from Pakistan. The document also analyzes media coverage, participation rates by gender and number of sessions attended, survey results that showed high satisfaction levels, and notes both strengths like fundraising success and weaknesses like overcrowding. It concludes with lessons learned such as the need for clearer donor recognition policies and improved planning of speaker participation.

This document summarizes a seminar on the importance of data decision-making in education. It defines the key differences between data, information, and knowledge. It provides several examples of national, provincial and school-level education data on topics like learner enrollment, educator attrition, and matriculation pass rates. The seminar emphasizes using data as a starting point for informed discussions rather than opinions alone. It also discusses concepts like knowledge management and the CARE approach to analyzing and responding to educational data. Homework assignments involve completing an online learning styles questionnaire and providing school-level documents as data examples.
This document summarizes the findings of a survey assessing developmental assets among students in the Bernards Township School District. Key findings include higher rates of alcohol use among student athletes compared to others, evidence of students riding with drunk drivers, and increasing rates of cheating on tests with grade level. The implications are that efforts are needed to address risks of alcohol use and prevent drunk driving, strengthen developmental assets for at-risk students, and explore ways to reduce cheating. Sharing the survey results with students and community could empower discussion around issues examined.
The document describes a multi-sector collaborative effort in Central Texas led by the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce to increase college enrollment and career readiness rates through data-driven research and policy changes. Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
