Auroras, also known as northern lights or southern lights, are visible in the polar regions and are caused by emissions of photons in the Earth's upper atmosphere from oxygen and nitrogen. Auroras form when charged particles from the sun enter the Earth's magnetic field, accelerating particles that collide with atmospheric gases and emit colorful glows. They typically appear as diffuse glows or curtains aligned with the Earth's magnetic field lines. Auroras have also been observed on other planets like Jupiter and Saturn.
Aurora are bright glows caused by collisions between charged particles from the solar wind and atoms in the Earth's upper atmosphere. The solar wind carries the Sun's magnetic field and particles through space at around 400 km/s, shaping the Earth's magnetosphere into an elongated bubble. Under certain conditions, the solar wind's magnetic field can merge with Earth's, creating electrical currents that drive particles into the polar atmosphere, causing the visible auroral displays usually seen in night skies at high latitudes, known as the northern lights in the northern hemisphere and southern lights in the southern hemisphere.

Astronomy is the scientific study of celestial objects and phenomena that originate outside Earth's atmosphere. It includes studying stars, planets, moons, nebulae, galaxies, and other astronomical objects as well as their evolution, physics, chemistry, and interactions. Related fields include cosmology, which studies the universe as a whole, and astrophysics which applies physics to astronomical objects and phenomena. Astronomy uses various methods of observation across the electromagnetic spectrum from radio to gamma rays. Some important astronomers mentioned include Galileo, who made early observations with telescopes and contributed to the scientific revolution, Hipparchus who created one of the first star catalogs, Edwin Hubble who discovered galaxies outside the Milky Way, and Johannes Kepler who explained the motions of planets
The document summarizes tides, including their causes due to the gravitational interaction between the Earth, Moon and Sun. It describes the stages of a tidal cycle from flood tide to low tide. It distinguishes between spring tides, which occur during full and new moons when gravitational forces align to produce stronger tides, and neap tides during quarter moons when forces are perpendicular and tides are weaker. Rare proxigean spring tides result from a close and aligned positioning of the Moon.

The document summarizes the Big Bang theory, which proposes that approximately 13.8 billion years ago the observable universe was extremely hot and dense and has been expanding and cooling ever since. It provides evidence for this theory, including the cosmic microwave background radiation, Hubble's discovery of the expansion of the universe, and the abundance of light elements produced in the early universe. It also notes some problems with the theory, such as uneven distribution of matter, and possibilities for the ultimate fate of the universe.
- Auroras are natural light displays in the sky, usually observed at night and particularly in the polar regions. They are commonly known as the northern lights in the north and southern lights in the south.
- Most auroras occur in a band around the Earth's magnetic poles at an altitude of 90-150 km above the ground, extending up to 1000 km at times. They frequently appear as curtains extending east to west.
- Auroras are caused by charged particles from the sun's solar wind being captured by the Earth's magnetosphere and drawn up to the magnetic poles, where the excited electrons emit light in colors like green, red, blue, yellow and pink.

2. Historia
Jean Bernard Léon Foucault planował zostać
lekarzem, lecz ... mdlał na widok krwi. Zajął
się materią nieożywioną osiągając znaczące
sukcesy w astronomii, chemii oraz fizyce
elektryczności i magnetyzmu. Najbardziej znany jest jako
twórca doświadczenia, które potwierdzało fakt, że Ziemia
obraca się wokół osi. W swojej piwnicy Foucault zawiesił
odważnik (5kg) na dwumetrowym drucie i zauważył, że
płaszczyzna drgań takiego wahadła systematycznie się obraca.
Doświadczenie powtórzył 1851 publicznie wieszając 67
metrowe wahadło w Pantheonie w Paryżu. Widzowie mogli
Foucault zachęcał ludzi do
uczestniczenia w doświadczeniu słowami:
„przybądźcie i zobaczcie jak kręci się Ziemia”
szerokościach geograficznych spowoduje wydłużenie czasu potrzebnego do
pełnego obrotu płaszczyzny wahań wahadła. Na równiku nie zaobserwujemy
obrotu płaszczyzny wahań względem Ziemi.
4. Problemy związane z ruchem wahadła:
1. Opór powietrza i tarcie wewnętrzne zawieszenia
powoduje ciągłą stratę energii i w konsekwencji
zatrzymanie wahadła. Przedłużyć „życie wahadła”,
można zwiększając masę i długość wahadła. Innym
sposobem utrzymania drgań jest dostarczanie
utraconej energii np.działając dodatkową siłą
wspomagającą siłę ciężkości.
2. Przy długotrwałej pracy wahadła każdy
brak symetrii w układzie zawieszenia, a
nawet ruch powietrza mogą prowadzić do
zaburzenia ruchu. Wahadło zaczyna
poruszać się ruchem eliptycznym co w
konsekwencji może przyspieszyć lub
opóźnić oczekiwaną zmianę kierunku
drgań.
10. Wahadła w Polsce
Drut napinający sferoidę
krakowskiego wahadła ma 46,5
metra długości, a masa sferoidy
wynosi 25 kg. Pierwsze
krakowskie pokazy Wahadła
Foucaulta odbyły się w 1949
roku, niemal 100 lat po
pierwszym publicznym pokazie,
jaki odbył się w paryskim
Panteonie. Miejsce - Kościół

jego zdaniem, efekt jest zbyt mały by można go zaobserwować.
Pierwsze eksperymenty wykonał w swojej piwnicy z wahadłem o długości 2 m i ciężarze 5
kg.
Pokaz wywołał ogromne wrażenie i
książę Louis Napoleon Bonaparte, przyszły Napoleon III, poprosił Foucaulta o
zademonstrowanie eksperymentu szerokiej publiczności. Miało to miejsce 26 marca 1851 r.
