The first waffle were made in the 1200’s  by a craftsman with two cooking plates to cook it. The waffle was made of some simple ingredients which are batter, milk, eggs, and a little bit of salt.  The waffle came from many different countries. The most common waffles are from the United states and Belgium.

The other shapes could be diamond, hearts, or even Mickey Mouse.  Waffles can also have toppings.  Waffle toppings include butter, syrup (chocolate or maple), berries (raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries), ice cream, and brown sugar.
Waffles can be eaten in different ways too.
