2. Changing Groups: Past
When I was younger, I belonged to the Cub
Scouts.
We learned about camping, fishing, tying
knots, building model race cars and about
friendship.
3. Changing Groups: Present
Now I belong to a softball team. We meet
once a week so that we can play softball and
enjoy our time together.
Sometimes we hold big tournaments and
teams from other countries come to play.
4. Changing Groups: Future
In the future I would like to join a Chinese
language class.
I like to learn languages so I think it would be
fun.
I would also like to meet new people with
different experiences.
5. What groups have you belonged
to?
Talk with your partner about groups you
belonged to in the PAST, groups you belong
to now, in the PRESENT and groups you’d like
to belong to in FUTURE.

7. Weather Affects
Some group activities are only available at certain
times of the year. This is usually because of the
weather, especially if the activity is held outside.
In Vietnam we don’t have a winter. In other
countries, groups that meet outside are affected by
the changing weather.
Other group activities need winter weather, like
skiing.
8. Chat with your partner.
What are some summer group
activities?
What are some winter group
activities?
What are some all-year-round
9. Group Interview
Let’s get into our groups!
Today we are going to ‘meet’ visitors from
different groups. We are going to ask them
some questions and write down their answers.
Let’s meet the first visitor together!
10. Park Ji Sung
Captain Park is here to talk about his group.
What types of questions should we ask him?
11. Group Interviews/Role Play
Each group will receive a paper with a visitor
and information on it.
Choose one member in your group to be the
“visitor’.
The rest of the group will be journalists and
ask the Visitor questions about their group.
Student’s will write their answer down on the
interview sheet.
After 3-4 minutes we will change papers and
meet new visitors.
12. Some Good Questions to ask:
What group do you belong to?
What does your group do?
What equipment do you need?
Do you wear any special clothing or
have an symbols?
Are there any rules or
responsibilities?
When and where does your group
meet?
