The efector mid volumetric flow sensor from ifm electronic gmbh has received KTW approval, allowing it to be used for precise measurement of drinking water applications. The sensor measures volumetric flow from 0.2 to 100 l/min with different process connections and button programming. It directly displays flow, total volume, and temperature without mechanical components, ensuring accurate measurement at low cost for drinking water and other water industry applications.

Volumetric flow sensor efector mid - now also for
drinking water applications with KTW approval
Essen, February 2011 – The robust MID volumetric flow sensor now
precisely measures each drop of drinking water.
Drinking water is our most important food. This is why legal requirements
for all materials in contact with drinking water are high. The SM series of
the magnetic-inductive volumetric flow sensors efector mid is adapted to
exactly these conditions and is now also approved for this special area.
With its extended measuring range (0.2...100 l/min), different process
connections and flexible button programming, the sensors can be used in
various applications of the water industry. Typical applications are all
kinds of drinking water applications.
The unit directly shows the volumetric flow quantity and the total quantity
as well as the medium temperature. The SM series requires no
mechanical components and has high measurement dynamics over the
complete measuring range. This guarantees safe and precise
measurement at a low cost. A high protection rating, EPDM seals, suited
for conductive media as of 20 µS/cm and rated for a volumetric flow
quantity up to 100 l/min: the MID volumetric flow sensor for
measurements that hold water! Analogue, binary and pulse outputs offer
various possibilities to process the measured data. Adapters are
available as accessories. The electrical connection is made via a
