The R360 SafetyController is a mobile controller from ifm electronic for safety-related applications up to category 3/Pl d of ISO 13849-1 and SIL 2 of IEC 62061. It monitors internal and external functions and reliably switches off in case of an error. It can be easily programmed via CoDeSys and has certified hardware and software. Inputs and outputs can be configured for analog, digital, and frequency signals. It also allows safe data transmission between devices over CANbus.

R360 SafetyController for mobile vehicles
Essen, 15 March 2010 – ifm electronic offers a mobile controller for
safety-related applications up to category 3 / Pl d to EN ISO 13849-1
and SIL 2 to EN 62061.
The safety concept of the SafetyController monitors all internal and
external functions and reliably switches off in case of an error.
Implemented test routines monitor the hardware and software.
Nevertheless, these devices are easy and convenient to program via
CoDeSys. The certified device hardware, the operating system software
and the programming tools simplify the safety-related approval of the
machine.
The inputs and outputs can be configured to the respective applications.
Analogue, digital and frequency ports are available as safety-related
inputs and outputs. Furthermore, fail-safe inductive sensors and safety
switches can be directly connected to the SafetyController. The safe and
non-safe outputs can be set as digital and PWM outputs.
In addition to the CANopen profile, CANsafety (DS 304) allows the safe
data transmission between bus participants on the same bus cable in
parallel to "normal" communication. The data is safely processed via the
two integrated CAN interfaces.
