12. BOX METHOD:
In this method, a
large box is cut in the trunk of pinus
plant. oleoresin is produced by
making an incision in the box and it
is removed at intervals with dipper
and collected an the barrels
13. In this method, a series of v-shaped
incision are made in the trunk of the
tree. The bark and young woods are
removed so that a groove is formed.
At the base of incision, aluminium
cup is fixed in the trunk and two
strips of iron or aluminium are
inserted to to deflect the flow of
oleoresin into cup.
Cups are moved higher up in the
trunk. As the cups filled, their
contents are empitied ininto the
barrel. Turpentine oil is removed by
steam distillation
