Vocational Rehabilitation provides employment services to clients with physical or mental disabilities. To be eligible, a client must have a documented disability preventing gainful employment, be able to benefit from services, and be able to work competitively. The main focus is on competitive employment. There are three levels of service based on disability level, with the most significantly disabled served first. Community Rehab Programs and Community Based Employment offer various services like on-the-job training to help clients obtain jobs. Types of employment include competitive, supported, enclave, and sheltered.

Criteria for Voc Rehab
1. Client must have a documented physical and/or mental disability that prevents
him/her from being gainfully employed.
2. One needs to be in a position where they can benefit from the service.
3. Client has to be able to wok in a competitive employment situation;
competitive meaning the client is competing for the same job as someone else.
• Sheltered Workshops are not criteria as this service provides pre
employment skills for clients.
• Voc Rehab is considered a resource of last resort.
• Voc Rehabilitation’s main focus is employment.

Based on how many are checked on the referral form

This is rarely if ever used.
