This document provides biographical information about two artists, MC Escher and Vassily Kandinsky. Escher was a Dutch artist born in 1898 who was interested in patterns and rhythm, living in Spain and Italy from 1922-1935 before returning to Holland, where he died in 1972. Kandinsky was a Russian artist born in 1866 who was interested in shapes and lines, moving to Germany in 1896 where he taught at the Bauhaus art school before relocating to France in 1933, where he died in 1944.
