THE MEANING OF NATURAL LIGHTING ON ALTAR CASE STUDY: CATHEDRAL CHURCH AND CHU...IAEME Publication
Natural lighting in the church greatly affects the value of sacredness, because the meaning of light in Christianity is known as father of light. Hence, this issue is very interesting to study. The methodology of this research is; first, the light filter orientation on the altar and sitting room as an audio-visual buffer; second, natural lighting as the centerof divine power at the church altar; third, creating a sacred atmosphere which is silent and light. The conclusion in this study is that the orientation of light will give a sacred impression. The lighting on the altar is the climax of the church building, and the orientation of the light on the altar as a climax is the manifestation of silent and light. The finding of this study is that the illumination of the light filter on the altar is not greater than the sitting room which is a zoning of the audio visual buffer. The benefits of this research can be used for the development of church architecture theory and also for practitioners to design church buildings
The Very Rev. Bernard J. Owens reflects on his first year as dean at Trinity Cathedral. Then he takes a look to the future as a new congregational vision begins to take shape.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

This sculpture of the Holy
Family is rich with
symbolism. The Christ-child
prefigures the cross:
His future calling.
We perceive the Son’s trust
in His loving father, and so
we begin to understand the
relationship He has with His
Heavenly Father. Mary, like
the Church, adores her Son.

the chapel of the
Elizabeth House, a home
for pregnant women in
crisis. This sculpture
shows Mary in her
humanity: a young,
vulnerable girl, in awe of
the One who dwells
within her. It pictures
her obedience, faith,
and courage. Elizabeth
serves as an example to
us, calling us to come
alongside the
vulnerable.

Editor's Notes
Charlie:You know, there are two plaques outside the current church. Look for them next time you are walking in the main entrance. There are names on those plaques of families who have been coming here for two – now three – generations. Some of them are deceased. But they responded to a need that existed IN their time – for their peers and for people like us who were yet to come. That is what we must do again: serve those in need now and prepare to serve generations beyond our own foreseeable future.
