The virus attacked the metallic copper wiring that formed the electrical systems supplying the computer internet, transforming the copper into non-conductive particles and shutting down the internet across Utopia. Without the internet, families struggled with how to educate their children and collaborate. A plan was formed to temporarily separate children from their parents and have teachers instruct the children in person. This was difficult for many to accept but helped people adapt to life without the internet. The virus then mutated further to consume other metals and materials until it had dismantled all computer infrastructure, permanently changing life on the planet.

It was a great day in Utopia. All the kids were at home doing their school assignments on the
computer internet. The parents and children and teachers were all working together in the family
unit as they had been doing since the time of Gates and Jobs over two hundred years ago.
Everything was on the computer internet and everybody had grown up with the computer
internet since anyone could remember.
Nature has a way of balancing. There was a virus coming. It started slowly from one of the last
ice shelves to leave the antarctic. The virus did not affect the species homo sapien nor did the
virus affect most members of the animal kingdom. The virus thrives on copper, metallic copper.
The virus attacks metallic copper and transforms the copper into atomic copper. Whereas
metallic copper conducts electricity and forms most of the wires in the electrical systems
supplying the computer internet, atomic copper does not conduct electricity and disintegrates
into very small atomic particles that scatter away until nothing is left.
One by one, two by two, hundreds by hundreds the computer internets were shutting down.
Children and parents and families were losing the computer internet and did not know what to
do. Some cried. Some laughed. Some looked at each other for the first time in a long time. What
are we going to do. How will we educate our children?
Things were cancelled. Talks were given. But it became apparent that they had to go on. So the
plan was put together. Tentatively at first, There was team building. And there was collaboration.
And there were comments and discussions. The times were trying and unprecedented.
Separate the children from their parents. Bring the children to a separate building. Have the
child talk to each other. Let the teachers stand in front of the children and give assignments.
And let there be tests. Then return the children back to their parents.
The children cried. The parents complained that the school was stealing their children and
putting them in jail. Very hard to imagine children sitting in a room without any computer internet
. Child abuse. How could the children learn anything in a building together without the computer
internet. Someone suggested writing letters on paper, but this was met with aggressive
opposition. How could anything be written without spel chek.
But the plan moved forward and it was OK.
The virus mutated. Before all the metallic copper was consumed the virus started eating gold
and silver and then silicon dioxide. All the computer chips crumbled. No one could restore the
computer internet. And then the virus mutated and jumped to the satellites. One by one the
satellites crumpled in the sky. There were bright flashes of satellite metal streaking around the
planet at the geosynchronous altitude. The blue planet had turned to metallic gold.
The world had changed. We were still here.
