The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed extending the feed-in tariff (FIT) scheme for wind power projects until the end of 2023. The proposal would set a new FIT price for projects commencing operations after November 2021. This extension could help address predicted power shortages in Southern Vietnam between 2021 and 2025 due to delays of thermal power projects. The extended FIT scheme, if approved, would provide lucrative opportunities for wind power investors in Vietnam over the next few years.
