Presentation at HEA-funded workshop 'Fit for the workplace - collaborative approaches to enhancing graduate employability in Sport '.
The workshop was integrated with the university’s undergraduate Sport Employability Conference (SEC) and provided delegates with the opportunity to discuss approaches to enhancing graduate employability whilst also observing students showcasing their work based learning. Sessions included engagement with a wide variety of national and local employers.

2. Program Initiative
This program is part of the “Jobs in Sport”
Initiative designed in partnership with sporting
bodies, schools and communities in creating local
opportunities for young Queenslanders into entry
level employment around the local sport industry.
Students will not only gain a qualification and
options for entry level sport accreditation.
This program aims to:
Provide avenues for social interaction, develop
self-worth, leadership skills and promote
community involvement through sport as
junior sport officials.
Develop skill sets to meet industry, workplace
and sporting expectations
Build Partnerships between sporting bodies, local
businesses, community and institutions

What is a VET in schools funded program
about?
Vocational Education and Training in Schools
(VETiS) focuses on delivering qualifications to
provide students with the skills and knowledge
required for specific industries. Students can
undertake VETiS as part of their school studies,
delivered by a registered training organisation
(RTO).
Is there a cost to student or school? NO
VETiS is funded by the VET investment budget for
students. This training provided is fee-free to
students or any additional cost to school.
