talent gap within their organizations. Some health systems are filling this gap by creating new C-
suite positions: 10 percent of executives indicated their health system had a chief population
health manager.
Quantifying population health is another challenge. Although healthcare leaders need to think
creatively about how to improve the health of a geographic population, they should also maintain
a healthy sense of skepticism about population health efforts. What might seem like a much-
needed intervention on paper, such as a grocery store in a food desert, may be one small piece of
a multipronged solution. There are no silver bullets, after all. Amid excitement for population
health, systems may oversimplify problems and overinvest in solutions only to see the same
health outcomes.
To find success, hospital leaders may need to diminish their traditional reliance on \"programs\"
and instead focus more on partnerships with community organizations and nonprofits. Some
health systems still act as autonomously as they can, ignoring a wealth of expertise and
resources.

Disclosure to relatives. This means that hospitals will not reveal information over the phone to relatives of admitted patients (U.S. Department of Health & Human services, n.d.). I do agree with this, however in cases where a patient may be out of state and is injured, unable to speak on their behalf, families are left to wonder where they are and what has happened to them. I agree that everyone has a right to privacy but if you look at it from a standpoint of an injured loved one and no way to contact them and find out what has happened, this can be a bad part of HIPAA laws in my opinion.
Victims of abuse, neglect, or domestic violence. While thissection of the HIPAA privacy rule is good, it could also be bad. If the allegation does not look to be in the favor of the person it was meant to protect, the worry of retaliation is of great concern to the patient. If CPS or Police do not have enough to deem neglect or abuse the child or person being abused may fear retaliation from their abuser. This puts them in a difficult position.

It can help keep them on track with caring for themselves and participate fully in the provider’s care. By having this in place, it helps protect children of neglect and abuse as well as domestic violence victims who are unable to speak out for themselves. Most indemnity plans attempt to limit demand through financial barriers to the patient, such as deductibles and co-insurance, rather than constraints on the provider. Many also require the patient to pay the provider directly and seek reimbursement from the insurer, often with payments less than charges.
Due to growing popular discontent with managed care organizations, many critics believe that the system will not continue in its current state. No one, however, expects managed care to disappear completely and indemnity plans to rise to their former prominence. Changes are expected to occur as managed care programs begin competing among themselves. Cost and efficiency will no longer be the main selling point; quality of services will take precedence. One researcher has suggested that along with new systems of managed care and continuing systems of indemnity plans, health care providers may even organize and offer services directly to employers, thus eliminating the middlemen. This development would be beneficial to all involved: employers would pay less; providers would be better compensated; and clients would receive better care

1. I agree that the changes made with CMS (center for Medicare and Medicaid Services) how changed the guidelines for how providers can bill for services. One of the biggest changes was the upgrade of ICD codes which has expanded enormously to be more specific with diagnosis and services to bill for. I work for a program of hospice, called palliative care, and the change over from using ICD9 codes to ICD10 was a very large task that took time to switch over to but I have come to realize that changes in health care are inevitable and to be prepared for things to change constantly. With being a palliative care program I don't think the change was as big of an impact on us like I'm sure it was for a hospital. Our program provides education on disease progress for chronic illnesses such a chronic kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, cancer, heart disease and so on. The amount of ICD 10 codes we use are minimal compared to what a hospital would see. Nonetheless the codes are way more specific now which can be challenging when trying to narrow down for accuracy.
2. I think training and feedback are two important aspects of implementing electronic medical records. The users are the most important stakeholders and they should be trained properly. Their feedback should be taken seriously as this helps with post implementation changes to the system. No one likes changes but change in any organization is essential. Technology has completely transformed the health care industry and from my experience resistance typically comes from the older generation who doesn't really understand the importance. Most are used to doing things manually. Most organizations are turning to the technology to transform their environment by cutting costs and ensuring that their revenues are coming in timely.

The Strengths of the Affordable Care Act in Florida

Most indemnity plans attempt to limit demand through financial barriers to the patient, such as deductibles and co-insurance, rather than constraints on the provider. Many also require the patient to pay the provider directly and seek reimbursement from the insurer, often with payments less than charges.
Due to growing popular discontent with managed care organizations, many critics believe that the system will not continue in its current state. No one, however, expects managed care to disappear completely and indemnity plans to rise to their former prominence. Changes are expected to occur as managed care programs begin competing among themselves. Cost and efficiency will no longer be the main selling point; quality of services will take precedence. One researcher has suggested that along with new systems of managed care and continuing systems of indemnity plans, health care providers may even organize and offer services directly to employers, thus eliminating the middlemen. This development would be beneficial to all involved: employers would pay less; providers would be better compensated; and clients would receive better care

1. I agree that the changes made with CMS (center for Medicare and Medicaid Services) how changed the guidelines for how providers can bill for services. One of the biggest changes was the upgrade of ICD codes which has expanded enormously to be more specific with diagnosis and services to bill for. I work for a program of hospice, called palliative care, and the change over from using ICD9 codes to ICD10 was a very large task that took time to switch over to but I have come to realize that changes in health care are inevitable and to be prepared for things to change constantly. With being a palliative care program I don't think the change was as big of an impact on us like I'm sure it was for a hospital. Our program provides education on disease progress for chronic illnesses such a chronic kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, cancer, heart disease and so on. The amount of ICD 10 codes we use are minimal compared to what a hospital would see. Nonetheless the codes are way more specific now which can be challenging when trying to narrow down for accuracy.
2. I think training and feedback are two important aspects of implementing electronic medical records. The users are the most important stakeholders and they should be trained properly. Their feedback should be taken seriously as this helps with post implementation changes to the system. No one likes changes but change in any organization is essential. Technology has completely transformed the health care industry and from my experience resistance typically comes from the older generation who doesn't really understand the importance. Most are used to doing things manually. Most organizations are turning to the technology to transform their environment by cutting costs and ensuring that their revenues are coming in timely.

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
