2. HISTORY OF SOCCER CLEATS
• “England's King Henry VIII wardrobe discovered the very first soccer cleats were made by the King's
personal shoemaker Cornelius Johnson in 1525.”
• “These first soccer shoes were ankle high, made of strong leather and much heavier than the normal
shoes during that time.”
• Factual knowledge.
(factories, villages, & history, n.d.)
3. WHAT MAKES US THE BEST
• ·Our cleats are made specially for athletes that value the importance of a good kick.
• ·This is the first time you will experience full control when making contact with the ball.
• Recommended by experts.
• Opinion and belief.
• WOKs: memory, reason, sense/perception, intuition, language.
• AOKs: arts, ethics, history, human science.
4. OPINION OF ATHLETES
• Kicking the ball with the side of the cleats gives you more control over the ball, causing it to move
towards the direction you are aiming at. However, your capacity to impact the ball and the strength
used are limited.
• If you make a toe kick, it will provide more momentum to the ball and it will be projected with
greater strength.
• The common design of cleats’ surface is rough and irregular, so the kick is less accurate.
• Practical knowledge and knowledge by acquaintance.
• Reasonable knowledge claim with evidence.
5. CIENTIFIC ADVANTAGES
• Newton’s second law of motion.
• “The second law says that the acceleration of an object produced by a net applied force is directly
related to the magnitude of the force, the same direction as the force, and inversely related to the mass
of the object.”
• By sewing the cleats instead of using shoe laces, we’ve come up with a smooth and plain surface on
top of the cleat hat gives more control to side kicks and more strength to toe kicks, at the same
time.
• Factual knowledge.
• Coherence.

7. USE OF TOK
• 3 types of knowledge: practical, by acquaintance and factual.
• Coherence.
• Reasonable knowledge claim with evidence.
• Ways of knowing: memory, reason, sense/perception, intuition, language.
• True knowledge.
• Areas of knowledge: arts, ethics, history, human science.
• A belief we have is that our cleats could actually work.
• Our opinion is that our cleats are the most practical.
