• This is the symbol of Venus.
• Venus has no moons.
• Venus is the 2nd planet from the Sun. It’s
a little smaller than the Earth. It is covered
with thick, poisonous, acid cloud. Venus
has no oxygen in its air or water on its
surface.
• Venus is the Roman goddess of love and
beauty. She is known as Aphrodite in Greek
mythology. The planet is probably called
Venus because it is the brightest of the
planets.
• Venus was formed 4.6 billion years ago
with the Sun and the solar system. Large
amounts of dust and gases gathered
together over many years to form the
planet.
• The orbit of Venus is the most circular in
the entire Solar System. A year on Venus
lasts 225 days. Venus can get as close as
40 million km from the Earth.
• 1. Venus is the most brilliant natural body of the
evening sky except for the moon.
2. It is the sixth largest planet in the solar
system.
3. This planet has no natural satellite.
4. In 1610 Galileo Galilei discovered the
phases of Venus.
