Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) is an inherited disorder that impairs the structure and function of motile cilia, disrupting the mucociliary clearance system in the lungs and other organs. This leads to chronic lung disease, sinus infections, hearing loss, and laterality defects in organ placement. The PCD Foundation supports research at medical centers nationwide to better understand PCD and find a cure by expanding our knowledge of cilia and their role in health.
