GUIDELINES TO SAFEPACKAGING 1) Parts should be cleaned and free from fingerprints. Fingerprints are very corrosive. Pack the clean product as quickly as possible. 2) Coated side (Green side) should face the metal to be protected. 3) Nothing to be placed between the products and the coated side of VCI wrapper. e.g. A metal product should  not be packed  in Polythene Bag and then covered with VCI Paper. Check that there is free exposure of VCI to all critical areas to be protected.
Wooden pallets (Support and other acidic packing material)  should be separated from the metal products and special care should be separated from the metal products and special care should be taken so that no wet wood is used in packing.  Wet wood oozes out acidic juices which are very corrosive. Metal surface should never be in direct contact with wooden crates.   5) Excellent protection against corrosion is always assured as long as the paper is not more than 30 cms.  from the metal product. Atleast 1 sq.m. of paper must be used for about 2 sq.m. metal  surface to be protected and minimum of 1 sq.m. paper for 1 cubic M of void space.  Additional VCI Powder Pouches/Tablets/Wrappers can be used in large size boxes to protect Critical Areas of Metal products.   GUIDELINES TO SAFEPACKAGING
Air tight packing is not required  but for best result the packing  should preferably be closed. The packing should be waterproof if there are chances of direct water shedding or water flooding. Multimetal Protector VCI Sponge Emitters are recommended to prevent the oxidation of critical contacts and soldered joints corrosion of critical electrical / electronic panels and components. Oxidation protection is provided to Copper, Brass, Bronze, Iron, Steel, aluminium parts.   8) Where water flooding is suspected then waterproof packing is suggested. If box design permits, a slight slope in the box Top (Approx. 2 cm. In 1 Mtr.) should be provided so that the extra poly sheet flying out of the box should be placed before nailing the top plank. Package may be opened and repacked for inspection. Avoid touching with contaminated hands during inspection. It is recommended not to carry inventory of VCI Wrappers for more than 1 year. Though VCI rolls in original packaging will have shelf life more than 2 years. Storage in dry and cool place is recommended and direct sunrays and heat to be avoided. No hot metal objects should be packed immediately in VCI Wrappers. Such objects should be allowed to cool below 50 0  C before packing.  GUIDELINES TO SAFEPACKAGING
Shade variation in the colour of paper or coating are inherent and  do not affect the properties of the paper.  Sometimes a crystalline formation on the VCI wrappers may be found which does not affect the effectiveness of the VCI wrapper. The duration of protection is function of the variety selected and the packaging method. Under normal conditions the duration of protection varies between 1-2 years.   14)   After uncasing, any goods packed in VCI, should go for further process immediately. In case of some long-time gap is inevitable then a light coating of oil is recommended in order to prevent corrosion during such unprotected transitions, of longer period. GUIDELINES TO SAFEPACKAGING
In case the paper remains open  for more than 24 hrs, as a measure of  abundant precaution  1 or 2 layers of the roll to be discarded or 1 to 2 sheets from the ream to be discarded. While using VCI wrappers as CFB Liners, care should be taken to ensure that the CFB material is totally dry.  Wet CFB has Acidic Adhesives which may be absorbed by the VCI liner, leading to corrosion of Packed component. To  avoid  this, the CFB box should always be lined  first  with PE bag & then the VCI liner should be put inside the PE bag. It is advised to test the product in advance to make certain about the suitability for particular production conditions & particular use or uses. GUIDELINES TO SAFEPACKAGING

    GUIDELINES TO SAFEPACKAGING1) Parts should be cleaned and free from fingerprints. Fingerprints are very corrosive. Pack the clean product as quickly as possible. 2) Coated side (Green side) should face the metal to be protected. 3) Nothing to be placed between the products and the coated side of VCI wrapper. e.g. A metal product should not be packed in Polythene Bag and then covered with VCI Paper. Check that there is free exposure of VCI to all critical areas to be protected.

    Wooden pallets (Supportand other acidic packing material) should be separated from the metal products and special care should be separated from the metal products and special care should be taken so that no wet wood is used in packing. Wet wood oozes out acidic juices which are very corrosive. Metal surface should never be in direct contact with wooden crates.   5) Excellent protection against corrosion is always assured as long as the paper is not more than 30 cms. from the metal product. Atleast 1 sq.m. of paper must be used for about 2 sq.m. metal surface to be protected and minimum of 1 sq.m. paper for 1 cubic M of void space. Additional VCI Powder Pouches/Tablets/Wrappers can be used in large size boxes to protect Critical Areas of Metal products.   GUIDELINES TO SAFEPACKAGING

    Air tight packingis not required but for best result the packing should preferably be closed. The packing should be waterproof if there are chances of direct water shedding or water flooding. Multimetal Protector VCI Sponge Emitters are recommended to prevent the oxidation of critical contacts and soldered joints corrosion of critical electrical / electronic panels and components. Oxidation protection is provided to Copper, Brass, Bronze, Iron, Steel, aluminium parts.   8) Where water flooding is suspected then waterproof packing is suggested. If box design permits, a slight slope in the box Top (Approx. 2 cm. In 1 Mtr.) should be provided so that the extra poly sheet flying out of the box should be placed before nailing the top plank.     Package may beopened and repacked for inspection. Avoid touching with contaminated hands during inspection. It is recommended not to carry inventory of VCI Wrappers for more than 1 year. Though VCI rolls in original packaging will have shelf life more than 2 years. Storage in dry and cool place is recommended and direct sunrays and heat to be avoided. No hot metal objects should be packed immediately in VCI Wrappers. Such objects should be allowed to cool below 50 0 C before packing. GUIDELINES TO SAFEPACKAGING

    Shade variation inthe colour of paper or coating are inherent and do not affect the properties of the paper. Sometimes a crystalline formation on the VCI wrappers may be found which does not affect the effectiveness of the VCI wrapper. The duration of protection is function of the variety selected and the packaging method. Under normal conditions the duration of protection varies between 1-2 years.   14) After uncasing, any goods packed in VCI, should go for further process immediately. In case of some long-time gap is inevitable then a light coating of oil is recommended in order to prevent corrosion during such unprotected transitions, of longer period. GUIDELINES TO SAFEPACKAGING

    In case thepaper remains open for more than 24 hrs, as a measure of abundant precaution 1 or 2 layers of the roll to be discarded or 1 to 2 sheets from the ream to be discarded. While using VCI wrappers as CFB Liners, care should be taken to ensure that the CFB material is totally dry. Wet CFB has Acidic Adhesives which may be absorbed by the VCI liner, leading to corrosion of Packed component. To avoid this, the CFB box should always be lined first with PE bag & then the VCI liner should be put inside the PE bag. It is advised to test the product in advance to make certain about the suitability for particular production conditions & particular use or uses. GUIDELINES TO SAFEPACKAGING
