Dance Concert Research Paper
Dance Concert Reflection Essay
Last week was such an amazing experience! I m so thankful to have had the opportunity to dance
with all my wonderful 4th period friends and take part in the Fall Show, Subsequent , with the rest
of the BHS Dancers (including my wonderful big, Lindsey)! I m really proud of how the dance
department did as a whole. I love dancing at Brookwood High School because it s so different than
the strict ballet setting that I m used to at my studio. It is also very special to be part of something
at my school. As a Sugarloaf Ballet Company Dancer, I ve not had this experience before. Dance
has always been separate from my school. It is so exciting to be able to say that I dance for Ms.
Ellen at Brookwood High School. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I hope this will begin to change as I have more exposure to these styles of dance, as I have not taken
very many classes in these genres. I have found it very intriguing and enjoyable to study new
styles of dance. As for what I have accomplished so far, I ve really enjoyed being able to branch out
from the environment I ve become accustomed to the last eleven years. I even like jazz, a style I
was never too fond of before this year. As for goals for next semester, I d like to learn to utilize
improvisation better by learning to be more creative in my movements when I improvise. I d
also like to loosen up more, and be able to do hip hop much better. Honestly, my goal is to
become a better and well rounded dancer through my involvement in Brookwood High School
Dance. As much as I like exploring other styles, I would like to do some ballet and maybe a little
pointe work. I would enjoy getting to do some of the styles that have made me into the dancer I am
so far. But of course, I see the value of all of the styles of dance so please understand I am all in
whatever style we

Art Integration Case Study Essay
Research Problem
Schools and educators are beginning to understand the value of inclusion of art education in K 12
curriculum more and more each year. So much so, that many states are adopting common core
standards and hiring highly qualify teachers to teach in the subject area of visual arts. Research
over the past decade reveals areas where effective arts education strategies, especially arts
integration techniques, have yielded practical and impressive results, (Education Digest, 2011). Part
of what is driving this initiative is the understanding that some students learn most effectively
through the arts (Robinson, 2013). Recent research reflects that art integration correlates with low
performing learners by increasing test scores. Studies conducted in North Carolina and Oklahoma
with art integration programs tracked consistent gains in student achievement as compared with
state and district averages ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each group will be introduced to a bridge study unit. Teachers will cover academic material of
different bridge structures in relation to U.S. common core standard requirements for social
studies, science, and math. Students in Group B will be asked to select a bridge discussed in the
unit. Then, they are asked to draw a blueprint for a bridge of their own inspired by the bridge they
selected. Once their blueprint is complete, at a later date they are asked to construct a bridge from
their blueprint with various materials that the teacher will supply. During each part of this
assignment students are reminded to use/include the math and science concepts that were taught in
the bridge unit. Bridge blueprints and constructions done by Group B will be presented to the class
for evaluation and a benchmark test will also be dispensed to all students in Group A and Group B

Scurvy
Scurvy is the state of Vitamin C deficiency. As the human body cannot produce vitamin C, serum
levels of this vitamin are solely dependent on dietary intake mainly from vegetables and fruits.
Vitamin C has an essential role in collagen formation of skin, gums, bones, and mucus membranes.
It also protects DNA, protein, and vessel walls from damage. Although scurvy is thought to be very
rare nowadays, it still can be found in elderly, college students and children who maintain poor diet
on daily basis . In general, it takes around 3 months for symptoms and signs to appear, ranging from
fever, fatigue, easy bruising, gum hypertrophy, poor wound healing, perifollicular hemorrhages,
anemia, and edema; to mood changes, depression, seizures, and... Show more content on

One study in the UK showed that in 2008 the weighted prevalence of low levels of VitaminC (s
history and clinical examination are powerful tools to reach to an accurate diagnosis. However, it
may be difficult to reach to the diagnosis of scurvy especially when common symptoms are
absent. The classical findings in scurvy are swollen gums and gingival bleeding and those were
not present in this case. In fact, some studies reported rare manifestations of scurvy such a patient
that initially presented with anorexia nervosa and was eventually diagnosed with scurvy. In two
separate case reports, scurvy patients were admitted to a hospital after presenting with orthostatic
hypotension and hematochezia. The patient on this case report presented with perifollicular
hemorrhages and ecchymoses on his lower extremities, and despite poor dental hygiene, he did
not have gingival hypertrophy, and denied gum bleeding. In a similar report, a 38 year old male
presented with knee pain, easy bruising but had gingival bleeding, which may have suggested a
more clear suspicion of Vitamin C deficiency, and another presentation reported a 54 year old
female with similar presentation as our patient but who also complained of weight

Improving Current System Of Police Reporting
5.5 Improvement to Current Situation
According to five factors that have been proposed, we had suggested some recommendations to
improve current system of police reporting in Malaysia which is the Police Reporting System
(PRS) to ensure that the function of the PRS will definitely helped to record and transfer the report
in a better and easier way.
5.5.1 Role
As mentioned above, role is very important factor in police reporting in order to make the report,
received statement from complainant, and most important thing is to transfer the report to
another police officers. As a recommendation, police organization in Malaysia can organize or
provide a training program for police personnel on duty at the enquiry office about the use and
maintenance of the PRS so that they can write the report quickly and also they know the function
for every single menu and button of the PRS. Plus, if the PRS are breakdown, the police
personnel will know how to fix the problem. Thus, it wills not wasting time to wait for the
technical team to fix the problem and also they no need to write the report manually in POL 55
and re type it once the PRS was fixed.
Besides that, enquiry officer also are encourage to more than one language. For instance, if the
complainant who come over to lodge a report does not know to speak Bahasa Malaysia, the enquiry
officer are able to speak another language like English, Mandarin, Tamil or any language that easy
to understand by the complainant.

Divergent Competitiveness
1.50CREATIVITY AND GENERAL MENTAL ABILITY Convergent thinking is defined as the
ability to apply conventional and logical search, recognition, and decision making strategies to
stored information in order to produce an already known answer (Cropley, 2006). Divergent
thinking, by contrast, is defined as the ability to produce new approaches and original ideas by
forming unexpected combinations from available information and by applying such abilities as
semantic flexibility, and fluency of association, ideation, and transformation (Guilford, 1959, as
cited in Cropley, 2006, p. 1). Divergent thinking brings forth answers that may never have existed
before and are often novel, unusual, or surprising (Cropley, 2006). Guilford (1967) introduced
convergent and divergent thinking as part of a set of five operations that apply in his Structure of
Intellect model (SOI model) on six products and four kinds of content, to produce 120 different
factors of cognitive abilities. With the SOI model Guilford wanted to give the construct of
intelligence a comprehensive model. After these new constructs were introduced and defined, tests
for convergent and divergent thinking emerged. Despite the fact that Guilford reported... Show more

Studies on the relationship between both constructs suggest that it is unlikely that individuals
employ similar cognitive strategies when solving more convergent than more divergent thinking
tasks (JauЕЎovec, 2000). However, to arrive at a quality formulation the creative process cannot do
without the application of both, convergent and divergent thinking abilities (e.g., Kaufmann, 2003;

Summary Of Howard Zinn sPeople s History Of The Unites States
Unit 1 Exam The United States at the end of the 19th century was a breeding ground for big
business and the strong connection it achieved with the government. At this point the wealthy has
monopolized the country and the government has stepped aside corrupting the foundation in
which it was meant for the people.History is interpreted in different ways. In Howard Zinn s
People s history of the Unites States , his views of the Government playing into the hands of the
wealthy is one that shows the truth of how life was really like during the turn of the 19th century.
At the end of the Reconstruction, the country took the next step in the industrial ladder. At this
time, many fortunes are made with the help of the immigrants and the corruption of the
government. People like J.P. Morgan sold defective guns during the Civil War and with the help
of the government, a federal judge upheld the deal as the fulfillment of a valid legal contract
(Zinn 255) . The railroad became a big staple in the American country was only possible with the
blood, sweat, politics and thievery (Zinn 254) , as the wealthy few, contracted cheap labor and
gave bribes in Washington to get the land they needed to further expend the railroad. The
government an establishment for the people, ignored the suffrage of the poor and stood there as
the country began to monopolize under the grasp of the few elites. In the other end A History of
the American People by Paul Johnson depicts the acts of the Gilded Age as a fundamental foothold
in the United States. For Johnson, the rapid growth of the country is thanks to the few who rose
from the rest, to establish the core of the economy. The government was a key player in the
involvement of the railroad and in Johnson s argument he says The railroads were subsidized and
legally privileged (Johnson 533) . He explains the vast help of the government, toward the wealthy
as a crucial step in accomplishing the impossible. In addition the article What Social Classes Owe
to Each Other (1883) by William Graham Sumnerargues that the few who managed to break
through the barrier of the lower class was not with the help of others or the government, but by their
own efforts and cleverness that got them to

Teens Tend Model Suicide Behaviors
As youth grow and continue to develop they tend to engage in suicidal behaviors due to
modeling, according to Insel and Gould (2008) teens tend model suicide behaviors due to
exposure in the media, exposure from other suicidal peers and a cluster of suicides in their
general area. A comprehensive image of risk in young people requires also the consideration of
the family s psychopathology and environmental properties. Young children and teenagers also
tend to have under developed pre fontal cortex in which logic and comprehensive thinking is
located, by having an under developed pre fontal cortex young children and teens tend to process
their current mental state from the Amygdala, in which is known to process emotions and reduces
the ability to think logically and rationally. In adult males that have ended their life due to self
harm behaviors can be related to having low testosterone levels when compared to healthy men
without mental health problems (Sher, 2013.) In a recent study conducted by Jonathon et al (2013)
they found that adults that had a shorter brain stem and basal ganglia represents a biomarker of
depression and suggesting dysregulation of the brains serotonin neurotransmitters revealing
symptoms of depression and suicidal behaviors. In later states of adult hood when dementia,
Alzheimer s disease, and amnesia related disorders tend to be a factor to force an individual to end
their own life. When a child or an adolescent commits suicideit leaves many

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Research Paper
Pyotr (Peter) Ilyich Tchaikovsky was born in Vyatka region of Votkinsk, Russia on May 7, 1840.
He had five siblings (four brothers and a sister) and was the second of six children. Ilya
Tchaikovsky, Peter s father, was of Ukrainian and Polish descent and was a mining business
executive in Votkinsk. His mother, Aleksandra Assier, was of French and Russian heritage.
Tchaikovsky musical experience began at the age of 5 when he began to take up the pianofrom his
mother, whose playing and singing Tchaikovsky enjoyed very much. When his mother died of
cholera in 1854, Tchaikovsky, being an emotionally sensitive child, became deeply traumatized and

It was during his tenure at Moscow Conservatory that Tchaikovsky wrote Swan Lake (his first
ballet), Eugene Onegin (his first opera), his first four symphonies for orchestra, and his widely
popular Piano Concerto No. 1 in B flat minor, Op. 23. Throughout the middle of his life,
Tchaikovsky experienced traumatic life experiences; from failed relationships and homosexual
struggles that caused him personal grief, to an attempted suicide in 1877, his emotional turmoil
forced doctors to order him to leave Russia for his own well being. It was during his time in
Europe and Switzerland that Tchaikovsky composed his Violin Concerto in D and completed his
Symphony No. 4, which was inspired by folk songs of his homeland. Tchaikovsky also played an
important role in the musical development of Sergei Rachmaninoff, as Rachmaninoff studied
Tchaikovsky s music under the tutelage of composer Aleksandr Zverev. Tchaikovsky also
promoted Rachmaninoff s opera Aleko to the point of the work being accepted and performed in
the repertoire at Moscow s Bolshoi

The Theory Of Human Development Essay
Human development does not exist in stasis it is constantly in flux. The outcomes of human
development are intrinsically linked to overarching power structures, and include psychological
dimensions including social recognition. Thus, development is dynamic and highly contextualised
it is governed by socio economic class, domestic politics, geographical location, and the wider
institutional context. Working within a particular framework requires acknowledging that concepts
of human developmentare implicated in the power structures which govern policies. Yet, human
development is not fixed in numerical measures of development, but rather, the outcomes of human
capitalare heavily influenced by the social context in which development occurs. Brazil s economic
growth and shifts in the wake of structural adjustment have coincided with the wider shifts in
development rhetoric which emphasize inclusive economic growth and human development. Yet,
whether new social safety nets provide will eventually provide an avenue for increased political
participation and growing social mobility remains speculative. Distinguishing social welfare from
human capital accumulation, I will argue CCTs, as social safety net policies emphasis on data
collection constitutes a thin approach to welfare. Then I will propose that the extension of service
provision, CCT programmes could build human capital accumulation. However, due to the
overarching political drivers of statist and

Examine Why Multinational Corporations Seek to Transfer...
The HRM policy of a firm is looked as a most important strength which needs to be taken care of all
the time to have a competitive advantage within the industry they operating in. Multinational
corporations (MNCs) seek to transfer their home country human resource management (HRM)
practices to their overseas subsidiary as to them it is just another approach towards globalisation. It
can be an element of success for MNCs if they manage to transfer these HRM practices across their
subsidiaries in an effective manner. An effective transition of these policies depends on the
organisational, cultural, social and relational factors (Bartlett amp; Ghoshal 1998; Evans, Pucik
amp; Barsoux 2002; Poedenphant 2002). The transition of these policies... Show more content on

The whole procedure of international strategy is from adopting the policies implemented from the
parent company to the enhancement of the competencies developed at the subsidiary, which will
complement the organization on the whole.
International experience is also one of the factors that push a MNC to implement the home country
HRM policies across their subsidiaries. It depends on how long a MNC has been active in their
international operations that impact the nature of their decision while implementing HR policies
across their subsidiaries. Having a lack of international experience, a MNC will make their
subsidiaries adopt their home country policies (The effect of corporate level organisational factors
on the transfer of human resource management practices: European and US MNCs and their Greek
subsidiaries, Barbara Myloni,July 2006). A MNC with more international experience is less likely
to adapt their home country policies as the more a firm gains international experience, the less
dominant their home country HR policies become.
Looking from the dependency theory s point of view, the need for control also pushes a MNC to
implement their home based policies. The stronger the need is, the more the necessity of
integrating these policies will grow, and hence there is a probability that the HR practice will
resemble the home country practices. The more dependent a subsidiary is to their parent, the more
the firm will try

Satire On Abortion
Abortions: You Should Have a Choice!
Imagine someone told you that you could only to wear a certain pair of jeans. Someone else

feel, how would you react? What if those circumstances involved a baby and someone said you had
to carry and give birth to it even if you don t want to. Society has benefitted through the access
government approved abortions clinics giving women the opportunity to overcome teenage
pregnancy, significantly reducing health risks, and defeating after effects of rape.

...Women who were denied abortions Felt more regret and anger and less relief and happiness than
women who had abortions ( Should Abortion ). This proves that being denied an abortion when
needed or wanted can have devastating consequences on a woman s mental health. Women in
these situations felt helpless and probably do not know what to do with their future. Finally,
abortions give women the opportunity to not deliver a baby when it is revealed that it has a
deadly or incurable disease. Fetuses can have anencephaly where the brain doesn t grow, limb
body wall complex where are the organs grow outside of the body, and Down Syndrome. Many
couples... don t have the resources, don t have the emotional stamina, don t have the family
support! [to raise a child with Down syndrome].
This entails, women should have the opportunity to decide if they want to go through the mental
and physical exhaustion of having a baby with disabilities such as Down Syndrome or
anencephaly, both of these diseases also cost a plethora of money, something not all families have.
In conclusion, every one of these problems could have been solved with the access of safe abortion
clinics. Mothers shouldn t go to the extent of a clothes hanger to have an abortion, be mentally
traumatized from the pregnancy they do not want, and if parents don t want a disabled child that is
their choice not to

What Is The Difference Between Igbo And Ibo
The Ibo village and Maine are very different cultures and celebrate things differently. In the
village, Okonowko has 2 titles in his young age. He is a hard working man and he doesn t like
festivals because he would rather be farming his land. Some similarities between Okonowko s
village of Ibo and Maine are that both harvestfestivals have music. In the village of Ibo they beat on
loud drums and in Maine we have a band playing covers of songs during a harvest festival. Also, in
Maine we come together during this celebration and talk to each other and the same goes for the
village people. In Maine and Ibo there are events that are planned for the festival, giving the
people things to do there. In contrast, the harvest festival is different for both communities.
During the Village of Ibo s harvest festival they praise there earth goddess because they believe
she is the judge of morality and conduct, in Maine we don t do so because there are many
different types of religions within Maine. Also, in Ibo they have wrestling matches and in Maine
we don t participate in wrestling matches for the harvest festival. Instead, in Maine we walk
around to food stands and look at decorated pumpkins. From this evidence I can assume that
religion is a priority in the Ibo village, where as socializing is Maine s priority during its harvest
festivals.
In the Ibo village, their justice court is very similar to Maine s. In both societies a group of people

Essay on The Patriot
The Patriot, written by Robert Rodat, takes place in South Carolina and reveals a widowed father s
love for his family and trying to keep them together, despite the Revolutionary War that had begun.
Trying to keep his demons from reappearing, Benjamin Martin faces his fear of his past coming
back to haunt him after serving in the French and Indian War. Martin is a South Carolina farmer
who lost his wife, Elizabeth, and reluctantly signs up to join the Continental Armyafter his eldest
son, Gabriel joined the regulars to fight against the British. After a battle began on Martin s
plantation, Benjamin helped wounded soldiers from both sides and was approached by William

He stood up to his own father and those who believed that the British should be killed not fought,
and fought to the end for the cause of freedom. Between Gabriel s dedication to the cause and
Benjamin Martin s military experience, the dedication of the men fighting, the cause of freedom
was fought on all fronts. However, during the fights, many men were lost, including another of
Benjamin Martin s sons, Gabriel. After Gabriel s death, Martin s fears were solidified and vowed
not to fight for anyone s causes. However, he realized that being a true patriot was the only way to
honor his son s deaths, so he fought for the cause of freedom and was truly victorious in his fights.
While The Patriot was a very successful major motion picture, characters from the movie actually
mirror those of characters that were indeed real. Colonel Tavington s character is based on the life
of Lt. Col. Banastre Tarleton the subordinate of Lt. General Charles Earl Cornwallis of the British
Army. Benjamin Martin s character was based on Francis Marion (which is also now a famous
hotel in historic downtown Charleston), also known as Swamp Fox fought Indians. In the movie
Martin and his men destroyed the Indians, however in the reality Marion and just a few of his men
survived.
Not only were there differences in the characters in the movie and those of the real

The Government And Indonesian Central Bank
In the past decades, the Indonesian banking system has experienced significant changes. The
economic crisis that hit Indonesia in 1997 1998 has resulted in a deteriorate bank performance
and the banking system nearly collapsed. The economy declined by 13% in 1998 and the country
had to take a 43 billion USD bailout fund by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as its currency
weakened, companies could not pay their loans and at least 80 banks failed or were nationalized
(Setiaji and Chen, 2012). The government and Indonesian Central Bank(Bank Indonesia)

While the global economic condition is still recovering from crisis, many argue that the process
is uneven and susceptible to shock (Bank Indonesia, 2015). The recovery process tends to slow
down as there is weakened commodity prices and foreign investment, and these factors are
inevitably affecting the growth rate of Indonesia. GDP growth is falling from 6.3% in 2007 to a
forecasted growth rate of 5.5% in 2015 (Asian Development Bank, 2015). In this case, as a financial
intermediary, banks have a strategic role in supporting the national economic growth. It is believed
that efficient banking system is essential for the country development. Therefore, a study looking at
the efficiency and profitability of Indonesian banks is substantial as it will signal the growth of the
Indonesian economy in the future.
According to Bloomberg, the lenders in Indonesia have the most profits among the top 20
economies in the world (Vallikappen and Moestafa, 2013). The data shows that Indonesian banks
have higher profitability than other Southeast Asian (ASEAN) countries due to high demand for
credit. It can be seen that banks in Indonesia tend to have high net interest margin (NIM), which
demonstrates the ability of traditional bank activities to generate interest based income. From 2000
to 2009, average banks in Indonesia had the highest NIM of 5.29% compare to other ASEAN

Steam Engine Essay
The Steam Engine and the Maxim are both forms of technology which were man made that
impacted the world. The steam engine was used to make transportation easier and more
convenient for people. The Maxim gun on the other hand was used to conquer parts of the world
and show superiority over over other groups of people. While both inventions helped groups of
people get what they wanted to survive and thrive for many years, the Steam Engineis more superior
compared to the Maxim. The idea of the Steam Engine originated from a man named Thomas

When it came to weaponry Great Britain was always ahead of the game. Always trading old
weapons while having new weapons with them at all times. The most powerful weapon at that time
was the Maxim gun. The Maxim was invented by Hiram Maxim in 1883. Great Britain was one of
the most dominant countries who wanted Afric. Technology was what could explain their
dominance. When they took parts of Africa the Africans were unable to fight against them. That
was because they could not fight with arrows and a shotgun, while their opponents had a machine
gun waiting for them. Great Britain always had the best weapons. The Maxim was the ultimate
weapon. It was a machine gun that no one could stop.
Though the Maxim did what it was made to do, which was showing dominance and getting
territory, it only helped a specific group of people. Since it was a gun it was obviously used to
kill people. The only people in Africa at the time were Africans. The Maxim was only used for
dominance and claiming territory, because it looked like no other gun at that time. Not really used
to help the continent let alone help the world.
While both inventions helped people achieve their goals one helped more people than the other.
The Steam Engine as stated before helped many miners do their job and get a paycheck. It is also
more significant because it became another idea, and sparked new inventions. Those ideas being the
inventions of cars, trains, and planes. While the Maxim was able to accomplish

Kailasanathar temple. They are generally referred to as Teppakulam. These tanks are located in
the very centre of the town and are repository of age old rituals. The purpose of the paper is to
study the structural features and quality aspects of the tanks. It is also revealed the importance of
temple tanks to maintain hydrological balance of the area, traditional festivals, aesthetic value and
limited exposure use for the public. Introduction Water has played an important role in the
architectural heritage of India from early times. In India, traditional methods for water harvesting
systems and water management systems have also been used successfully from ancient times.
Each region has its own unique system depending on its topography, rainfall and the local needs
of the community. In areas where the rivers were not snow fed and therefore not perennial,
particularly true of the lower peninsular regions, different kinds of tanks served multiple purposes
aesthetic, spiritual and practical. There were two main kinds of tanks: village ponds used as
common property for a range of everyday chores like bathing,

Research Paper On Askers
Because Meijer s is supposedly a big store, I made some tips for you! The first store is that Meijer s
is not big, just busy. These tips are important so please highlight and re read if necessary. First,
all around the store, there are red and black phones. The black is for employees, the red ones, are
for YOU. Almost every store is different depending on the location, for example in Ohio, or in
Grand RapidsMichigan. So, if you ask your greeter where a map is of the store you can see the
different departments, this is important because there are at least three red phones in each
department, as well as SOME price scan stations. Red phones help organize your questions to the
specific departments, for example if you wanta fishing license,... Show more content on

Leave your carts, NOT YOUR PERSONALS, but your carts with the greeter. Take the kids, or
leave your amigo, electric cart, with the greeter, grab your walker and then pee. Many vendors
come in the store, to fill ice or stock bread, or even give you free samples, they may be wearing
uniforms, but, THEY DON T WORK FOR MEIJER S. Refrain from asking where the butter is,
but you can ask for recipes! If you see a mess, don t ask them to clean it, use a red phone in your
area or ask the person in that department, this is important because we are a busy store. And we
wouldn t want to be taking care of a mess in grocery when we are supposed to be organizing the
flowers, right? Onto complaints, the best way to complain is to a store director, a cashier, or to
customer service. It is why we have it, among other things, to be honest we all care about your
complaints, but it is better from your mouth than ours. Fast lanes, there are ALWAYS,
ALWAYS, at most three employees working the fast lanes. LOOK AROUND, if your machine
is malfunctioning, or you need then to check an ID, be patient and wait. Don t ask someone
passing by, or even the greeters, just wait, their coming. The final big two tips, in general, are
amigos and blue carts. Where do I start, treat Meijer s with respect, please, don t push or leave carts
AND amigos all over the place. If the amigos are dead, ask an employee to call for help. DO NOT

Raising Sheep Is A Major Part Of My High School Experience
Raising goats has been a major part of my high school experience. I purchased my first two
Pygora goats, Dione and Carl, in November of my freshman year, and in the four years since
then my herd has expanded to six. Being out in the barn, working, caring for the goats, cleaning,
learning and teaching, has allowed me an outlet to flourish and learn by doing. This past year I
decided to breed two of my goats as my Senior project. This was not my first time breeding, but it
will be the first time of me making all the decisions on my own. It was certainly harder than I
expected. At the end of the five month pregnancy, I learned so much about goats, nutrition and
kidding (goatlabor) than I had ever known before. My goals for this project were... Show more

I already knew I wanted my girls to be bred at my 4 H leader s, Janet Tilp s, farm. I had bought my
original two goats from her and that is where Dione had been successfully bred before. When I
went to her farm to determine a buck for each girl, I had both an easy decision and a hard decision.
I knew already that I wanted to breed Dione with Bing. Dione and Bing were the parents of Stella
and her brother, Jack, and Dione had an easy kidding with them in 2013 and before I bought her.
They produced wonderful babies, fit with the qualities of a good goat. Who I should breed Stella
with was the hard choice. Stella is a smaller goat, therefore she wouldn t do well with a larger buck,
but I wanted her baby to be bigger than she was when it was full grown. I also needed a gentle buck
to be nice to her, a first time mom. I was also seeking a buck with unique colorings. Stella is a
black goat with a grayish fiber, and I wanted to add some diversity to my herd. I ended up deciding
to breed her with Mira, a brown goat who was very sweet. I was very confident in my buck choices.
A month after I decided on the bucks, I brought my girls to Janet s farm for a six week honeymoon,
where they would live in a spacious stall with the bucks on September 11, 2014. The price of the
two breedings turned out to be $250, $125 each. To pay for the breeding, we offered to provide all

End Human Trafficking Intervention Plan Paper
Assessment of the Problem
Human trafficking is the form of modern day slavery and it is a worldwide problem that affects our
local communities. Human trafficking presents itself in two forms: sex trafficking and labor
trafficking. Human trafficking touches people of all ages: children, young adults, and the elderly.
Human trafficking is defined as, the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of
persons, by means of threat of use of force or other forms of coercion, or abduction, (Lightfoot,
p.1, 2013). According to the San JosГ© Police Department there are approximately 600,000 to
800,000 people that are trafficked across international borders each year. Out those 800,000 people
it is estimated that 18,000 to 20,000 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also states that government agrees that human trafficking is a problem, however, only about 15
million dollars has been invested over the past seven years. Acosta states that the tools needed are
there, but there is a lack of will in the political power, not enough public awareness, and that there
are not enough resources.
On a statewide level in California there are task forces assigned to combat human trafficking. In San
JosГ©, California the task force assigned to fight against human trafficking is the San JosГ© Police
Department and Community Solutions. There are other agencies such as the YWCA that
collaborate with law enforcement, legal advocates and pro bono attorneys, victim service providers,
faith communities and community activists. The most common human trafficking in the South
Bay is Commercially Sexually Exploited Children, although sex trafficking of women and labor
trafficking still occur.
Community efforts include the Not for Sale campaign that provides awareness and resources for
victims and at risk individuals. There is also currently a conference that is going to be held through
FIGHT (What does this stand for?). The primary purpose of the conference is to motivate the
community and local churches to get involved to fight against human trafficking. The conference
will focus on education, creating positive change, abuse prevention programs for local

Slavery In The Antebellum American South
Race as a social construct, a pseudo biological concept, and an identifying demographic has
undeniably been ubiquitous in the history of human otherness. In particular, the ascribing of racial
identities to a group, or racialization , has played a vital role in the conception and development of
minority groups. This phenomenon continues to shape ideas about race and ethnicity, albeit in less
dramatic ways than in the antebellum South. Nevertheless, people blinded by privilege claim that
they are colorblind or that society has moved into a post racial paradigm. It is, therefore, especially
relevant to examine processes of racialization that have defined and maintained the social concept
of race throughout history. A prominent historical instance of racialization that influenced modern
day race identity is the objectification and commoditization of black peoplein Southern slave
markets of the antebellum era. As a consequence of the chattel principle, which defined a slave s
existence as property of a slaveholder, Black Americans identities were permanently altered by
those who used their positions of power to subjugate and dehumanize them, either deliberately or
tacitly. Specifically through association between race and physical or mental ability, and false
medicalization of issues in slave populations, slave traders, slaveholders, and others who endorsed
chattel slaveryperpetuated the racialization of black slaves. Slavery in the antebellum American

Bagley Meaning
The article by Robert Bagley Meaning and Explanation deals with the problem of meaning
identification of the artworks elements. The piece of writing focuses on the analysis of the
interpretation of the decorative elements on the Chinese ritual bronzes. This issue has caused
numerous discussions that seek to come up with a single idea concerning the question whether
those religious vessels have the meaning or they are just decorations with no symbolic meaning at
all. With regard to this, in this article, the author rebuts the idea expressed by K.C. Chang, who
believes that every religionconnected decoration should have a meaning and obligatory represent
the ideology of the people. Robert Bagley provides substantial evidence in terms of sharing... Show

The problem with the pieces of art that were under analysis was that there was a lack of textual
evidence concerning the value of those ritual vessels as well as of other artworks that Bagley
uses to develop his argument. Nevertheless, such approach allows him to indicate the
weaknesses in the reasoning and, in this way, make his reasoning stronger. For example, Bagley
puts an emphasis on the need to consider not only the potential symbolism of the painted
elements but also to research the history of the elements and how they were used before. Bagley
writes, No inventory of meanings will ever be enough to explain the appearance of the
Lindisfarne page or the appearance of a Shang bronze , and he expresses reasonable claim here
defending the idea of decorative value of respective elements (8). If the meaning of the
ornaments was only characterized by symbolism and devoted to the beliefs expression, there
would be no place for changes in the use of ornaments in definite time or otherwise. Nevertheless,
the change of beliefs system did not always result in the change of decoration that were used. For
instance, the description of the Erligang phase with the painted animals could not be applied to
the pre Anyang bronzes showing no presence of the same images, as Bagley claims in his work
(22 23). Respectively, the issue of the meaning of the elements should be replaced with the issue of

Organizational Concepts Of Organizational Vocabulary
Organizational Change Vocabulary Increasing my organizational vocabulary is particularly useful

What Is Chaucer s Use Of Satire In The Canterbury Tales
The Canterbury Tales is a story in which Geoffrey Chaucer began writing in 1836 and never
finished. The author was very sneaky as he mentioned ways to mock the Church. He wasn t fond
of how corrupt the Church and religion in general was becoming in his day an age. All that
mattered was money, not the people. Chaucer utilizes his satirical comments and remarks against
the Prioress, the Monk and the Friar to show that the Church has become detrimental, in lieu of
being a place of hope and charity. The Prioress, who took the vow of poverty and charity seemed
to care about her appearance and valued animals over people. This is what Chaucer found satirical
about her role as a head nun. Right decorous her pleated wimple was/Her nose was fine;... Show

that he takes money as repentance for those who believe they ve sinned. He boasts about it too,
and doesn t cry for those who donate. Chaucer displays this to show that the Friar is giving an
excuse to take the money, and the satire shows in the way he is described, as if this is truly what
a friar is all about. His tippet was stuck always full of knives/And pins, to give to young and
pleasing wives/ . . .In towns he knew the taverns, everyone/And every good host and each

and that it s better knowing the barmaids and hosts rather than being acquainted with a sick person

Totalitarian Ideologies Of Fascism And Stalinism

Totalitarian Ideologies
The economic downfalls and Great Depression following World War I, provided the perfect
atmosphere for Nazism, Fascism and Stalinism, which had been developing during the war, to rise.
Breaking with the constantly undermined values of individual liberties, freedom and democracy,
many flocked towards the bold leaders of each of these ideologies for a better future. Despite
taking place in different countries, each of these three totalitarian ideologies, led by Adolf Hitler,
Benito Mussolini and Joseph Stalin, were able to garner a massive following through violence and
media, while promising the desperate people, renewal, ease and economic prosperity in their war
torn countries.
After a successful march on Rome, where King Victor Emmanuel III was forced to promote Benito
Mussolini to the status of Prime Minister, the essentially self appointed dictator would ignite fascism
in Italy. The former political journalist defined fascism writing that the more it considers and
observes the future and the development of humanity quite apart from political considerations of
the moment, believes neither in the possibility nor the utility of perpetual peace. The Black Shirts,
which consisted of young men and veterans who supported Mussolini s promotion of militarization
and led attacks against Parliament, were attracted towards his promise of a military utopia and the
restoration of men s warrior status. Their emblem, the fasces, which

Running Head: Calgary Urban Sustainable Development
Introduction
The concept of urban sustainable development emerged in the twentieth century. Development is
defined as the way of bringing change in communities by promoting economic growth and
development, changing infrastructure and utilizing technology to create stronger and advanced
communities. However, this development can have negative impact on society and may lead to
exploitation of natural resources, deforestation, outdoor pollution, gender inequalities and social
injustice (Bartelmus, 2011). Therefore, the concept of sustainable development has emerged as a
new paradigm of development, which concentrates on protecting the environment and preserving of
resources and removing social inequalities and at the same time, promoting economic growth and
development. Calgary s urban sustainable development model has been selected and would be
discussed in the lights of broad and diverse academic resources.

cognitive functions. The use of NAC as a form of treatment is an adjunct therapy for the symptoms
of schizophreniaand bipolar disorder as NAC intake showed an increase in antioxidant and

were randomly assigned to taking 2000mg/day of NAC or a placebo. After six months, the
results of the NAC intake showed that symptoms of depression in bipolar disorder improved. The
functioning and quality of life also improved, but there was no change in the cognitive functions
of a person with bipolar disorder. This study, however, was not able to support its hypothesis on
cognitive improvement, but it emphasized NAC s effectiveness in bipolar disorder therapy.
Several factors limited the findings. The short timeframe and small sample size provided an
unsuccessful result. Experiments and further investigations with a longer duration and larger

Is Activity Based Costing ( Abc ) Essay
The first cost system of this part of this essay is activity based costing (ABC). Cooper and Kaplan
(1988) implemented ABC for taking care of issues of Traditional costing frameworks.
For allocating costs, Tradtional costing uses a single number like the machine hours or the direct
labour hour, also cost allocations are volume based. Comparing ABC with Traditional Costing
Systems, ABC include all activities for a product, to making it easier to more accurately measure
and allocate costs (Cooper, 1990; Cokins, Strat ton, Helbling, 1993).
It moves away from assigning costs to individual products but rather to activities or processes,
which allows for assigning a larger part of overhead costs to specific cost units (Cooper Kaplan,
1988; Friedman Lyne, 1997).
Also important to know is that ABC define all the company activities as value adding or non
value adding activities (Cooper Kaplan, 2005). Non value added activities create waste, result in
postponement, add expenses to the items, or for which cost clients are not willing to pay. ABC
helps an association in discovering chances to streamline or lessen the expenses, or wipes out the
whole movement, particularly if there is no esteem added viewpoint to it (Drury, 2012).
Many have the believe that ABC is better than Traditional Costing because ABC say more about
the driven costs, and can split on any single activity and receives so more accurate cost details
(Akyol, Tuncel, Bayhan, 2007; Kee, 1995). As per this,

Essay about Mexicos Economy An Politics In 19th Century
Civil war had destroyed both social stability and the economy. Also, few people had enough
political experience to bind Mexico together. The first constitution, spread in 1824, giving state
legislators the power to elect both the president and the vice president. A result of this constitution,
caused a series of weak presidents struggled to form an effective government.
During this time, Mexico s political elite began to divide into two opposing factions: conservatives
and liberals. The conservatives favored a highly centralized government and wanted to maintain the
Catholic Church s power and control of educational facilities.
The liberals wanted a federation of states that was not strictly controlled by a central government.

troops occupied much of northern Mexico by the end of the year. Mexico City fell on September
14, 1847, and Mexican forces surrendered soon thereafter. The RГo Grande was fixed as the
southern boundary of Texas. Territory, which now forms the states of California, Nevada, Utah,
Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming, became part of the United States.
Liberal rebel leader Juan ГЃlvarez became the provisional president of Mexico. The 1855 takeover
of the government by the liberals began a period known as La Reforma, in which liberal leaders
sought to reduce the power of the church and the military in Mexican politics and society. Later that
year Ignacio Comonfort, a liberal who sought a more gradual pace of reform, replaced President
ГЃlvarez. In 1857 the liberals enacted a new constitution, which reestablished a federal form of
government. It provided for individual rights, universal male suffrage, freedom of speech, and other
civil liberties. The constitution also abolished special courts for members of the military or clergy,
and ordered the church and other institutions to auction off any land or buildings not absolutely
necessary for their operation.
Conservative groups bitterly opposed the new constitution. In 1858 a political revolt overthrew
President Comonfort and JuГЎrez became provisional president. Soon afterward conservatives who
had participated in the revolt forced JuГЎrez to flee Mexico City; he established a new seat of

Alice In Wonderland Essay
Throughout AliceВґs Adventures in Wonderland, Alice encounters numerous creatures. These
creatures challenge, guide or offend Alice, which in the end helps her grow and rediscover herself.
All characters are important to AliceВґs growth, yet some are more important than others. The first
character Alice encounters is the White Rabbit. During their meeting, the Rabbit mistakes Alice for
his maid Mary Ann, and requests she get his gloves and fan, which he forgot at home. His attitude
towards Alice, and others he considered inferior, is rather pompous, but he acts humble and shows
respect around the King and Queen. Based on this, I believe the White Rabbit could act as the
antithesis of Alice. Whereas Alice attempts to act polite towards everyone,... Show more content on

The Caterpillar sits on top of a mushroom smoking hookah. Although he acts rude towards Alice,
he also gives her advice, helps her cope with the problems she encounters, and he teaches her how
to regain her proper size by eating parts of the mushroom. In many ways, the Caterpillar acts as the
adult of the story. He might not act friendly and polite, but he solves one of AliceВґs biggest
problems, namely regaining her original height. Alice might seem mature, but the Caterpillar
reminds the reader that Alice is in fact a child, and that she depends on guidance to make sense of
the world. He is also the one who helps Alice become comfortable in her body. The Caterpillar
could therefore represent the importance of adult guidance, and how no one can solve all problems

No Country For Black Boys By Joy Priest
Where is my country?
The poem No Country for Black Boys by Joy Priest represents the sorrowful incident which
happened on February 26, 2012 for Trayvon Martin in Florida. Trayvon Martin was an innocent
African American young boy who bought iced tea and some skittles. On the way back to his
father s home, he got shot by the neighborhood watch and treated as a victim because of his skin
color. Guilt was not defined by what Martin did but by what he said, also it determined something
deep rooted in the young age. No weapon was needed to identify him as a victim. He is a young
black boy, so he is already guilty enough to be killed. Black people have the same rights as the other
people, however in reality, America s society discriminates against them compared to other
nationalities.
People feel unsafe when they see African American young boys. President Obama said There
are very few African Americanmen in this country who haven t had the experience of being
followed
when they were shopping in a department store. That includes me. African American kids prepare
themselves from childhood to prove their honesty to the other nations around. They learned to hide
from the cops even before they learned how to read a book. Young black men are considered as wild

Hillary Clinton s Influence On American Politics
For the last 12 months America has been experiencing a liberal/progressive revolution. People all
over the country have been uniting behind Bernie Sanders and his cause to end the corruption in
Washington and restore the democratic power to the American people.
When Sanders, a relatively unknown, small state senator of Vermont officially announced on May
26, 2015 that he was running for the presidency, the media coverage was relatively scarce. For
years the Democratic National Committee (DNC) led by the former co chairman for Hillary
Clinton s 2008 presidential campaign and mainstream media had assumed Hillary Clinton to be the
Democratic nominee. According to these pundits, Hillary was, due to her experience,
recognisability, and vast amount of donor money, considered to be the ideal candidate for the
Democratic Party.
Therefore, as Sanders started surging in the polls prior to the initial state primary elections
surpassing Hillary in New Hampshire and keeping it close in Iowa, the bias of ... Show more

Explain How The Circulatory And Respiratory System
The Living body
Task 2: Use the results from experiments 1 and 2 and research, to explain how the circulatory and
respiratory systems work together to maintain the function of the cells and the body as a whole.
In the human body, the circulatory system consists of the heart, blood vessels, arteries, veins and
capillaries. The heart pumps blood around the body via the veins.
The circulatory system works when nutrients and oxygen are distributed to every cell in the
human body by the blood. The Circulatory system also gets rid of waste products such as carbon
dioxide and urea. The heart and blood vessels together make up the cardiovascular system.
The respiratory system provides the blood with oxygen from the lungs while at the same time the
respiratory system gets rid of carbon dioxide in the blood.

There are two nervous systems. One is called the Perphial Nervous system and another is called
the Central Nervous system. However, both nervous systems can fail. One cause of the nervous
system to fail is a condition called Botulism and another is a syndrome called restless legs.
Botulism is a serious illness, which is caused by bacteria named Clostridium botulinum. These
bacteria can be found in in soil, dust and rivers. The bacteria is not harmful but when placed in and
area where it does not have enough oxygen such as in closed tins, jars, bottles, soil and mud it
produces poisonous toxins.
Botulin can affect the nervous system by attacking the brain and the spinal cord. Resulting in
muscle weakness and loss of muscle tone and subsequent paralysis. It normally starts from the
head down to the legs. It can lead to symptoms like blurred or double vision, eyelids dropping and
difficult breathing (Dysphagia) or speaking (Dysarthria). If it is not treated properly, the paralysis
can become permanent and it can also cause a fatal respiratory

The Washington Family Analysis
The Washington Family by Edward Savage, painted from 1789 1796, features American s original
First Family. (Fig. 1) George Washington sits around a table in his Mount Vernon home with his
wife, Martha and her two grandchildren, whom the Washingtons adopted following the death of
their parents. Behind them, a household slave stands ready to serve and a vast landscape sprawls
outside the window. Though the painting appears to be a simple, familyportrait, it actually contains
deeper, political messages.
Savage depicts George Washingtonin a domestic setting to showcase his personal life outside of
the presidency; he is depicted with his family and in his private home. However, he is also shown
in uniform, alluding to his role as general. He does not grasp his sword, but instead rests his hand
on a stack of papers, representing his role as statesman. It was well known that Washington
intended to step out of the public sphere following the war before being elected, and that he
continued to long for a quiet life at home throughout his presidency. In this work, Savage depicts
Washington filling roles of general, statesman and patriarch, making the statement that he can fulfil
all three roles. Further, by depicting Washington as a father figure in his domestic setting, Savage
invites his viewers to connect him with the founding of the nations and thus visually establish him
as the Father of our country. Considering the popular print version of the work distributed around

Murder Of Emmett Till Thesis
The Murder of Emmett Till is an incredible documentary about the harsh reality of life for
African Americans in the U.S. in the 1950 s. The documentary does an amazing job of shedding
light onto this terrible period of American history by showing it s audience a very graphic
example of this time period s prejudice against African America. The Murder of Emmett Till
focuses on a case in 1955 in which a 14 year old African American boy was ruthlessly murdered for
supposedly flirting with a white woman. The intention of this magnificent documentary are made
fairly clear to its audience as the video progresses; its intentions were to inform the audience about
this gruesome case, the time period in which it occurred along with suggestions on how... Show

Many of the interviews included in the film are those of friends, family, and witnesses. The most
impacting of those interviews were those that included friends and family. The film reached out
to Till s mother and was able to interview and she really tied the documentary together, often she
would speak about her deceased son and how his death impacted her and the rest of the African
American community. Moses Wright who was there when Bryant kidnapped Emmet was also
very impactful, he tried to convince the kidnappers to give the boy a whipping, instead of doing
the unthinkable, of course, they didn t listen and took the boy. Many other friends and family of
Till were interviewed as well, many of which described Till and his personality. This allowed the
audience to build an image of Emmet Till, which also something many documentaries fail to do.
An ordinary documentary would give the audience cold hard facts about the case, The Murder of
Emmet Till, however; builds upon emotion by building up these people like an author would build
a character. The film uses the audience s emotions to emphasize the importance and tragedy of this
event, the use of emotion also encourages the audience to care more about what happened. Instead
of relying on pure facts, which often only appeal to only some people, they use emotion which
appeals to all and they, of course, include facts to support their overall

How Did Religion Influence The Development Of Ancient...
There are many major civilizations in the world today. The first major civilizations all formed in
river valleys. These civilizations are Egypt on the Nile River, China on the Huang He River, India
on the Indus River. These cavitation s helped to form how our world is today by the advances they
made in technology, economy, Government and other areas. Religion played a very significant role
in Ancient Egypt. Their religion was greatly inspired by custom and tradition. The Ancient
Egyptians possessed a complex and intricate religion. Their main aim throughout their history was
to emulate the conditions which they believed has existed at the dawn of creation. (Rosalie,
1988) Ancient Egyptian includes many religious beliefs and rituals performed in Ancient Egypt
beyond 3,000 years. The religious beliefs centered on the worship of numerous deities who
signified various features of ideas, nature and purposes of power. Ancient Egyptians were
polytheists and worshipped literally hundreds of different gods, including their pharaohs, all of
whom were believed to be gods in the form of men. The deities were worshipped with offerings
and prayers, in family and home shrines including in temples which are administered by priests.

Tort Of Attack Tom Shot Bob With A Baseball Bat
For this essay, I decided to research the tort of assault. I will be discussing this topic as prior to
reading chapter three of the textbook I knew very little regarding this tort.
As defined on page 55 of the text Assault is a purposeful act that causes an apprehension of a
harmful or offensive contact. This means that assault is when someone causes a person to
reasonably believe they are at risk of imminent harm. Such an example would be if Tom threatens
to hit Bob with a baseball bat while holding a baseball bat and speaking in a serious manner. In this
case, Tom has committed the tort (and crime) of assault even though he does not eventually hit Bob
with the bat. This tort is closely associated with and often mistaken by the tort of

Both quantitative and qualitative researches have been used as research approach recently. (What

Firstly, most of the researchers need to interact with people during collecting data. As researchers
use tools such as questionnaires and interviews to collect data, they must interact with interviewees
during the process. Although both of them ask questions in different ways, they are able to arrive at
the desired answer through interacting with people.
Besides, although qualitative research used verbal data to proceed their research mainly, sometimes
numerical data is used. For instance, to determine how individual feels, opinion data is commonly
used in the progress in qualitative research, using numbers one to five to find how individuals feel.
It is a kind of numerical data since it produce numerical outcome, which researchers use to
summarize the research. In addition, researchers need to use numerical data to support their
hypothesis before conducting their research. If their hypothesis has no data to support, the
credibility of it will be limited. Therefore, numerical data will be used in both of the research to
support their argument.
Moreover, researchers need to use their own data to develop their research and support their
hypothesis. Although second hand resources may helpful to their research, it may be outdated or
not appropriate to the research. Hence, primary data is important for

The Differences in Laws and Privacy in the United States...
In Computer Security what are the differences in laws and privacy between United States vs.
European Union? Do the laws that a society have in place deter computer hacking or should we
require to have better systems and technology to prevent such an attacks. In reviewing the US s
Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and the changes that have been made to improve computer security
in the private sector, to see if these enough to protect our systems from cybercrimes? Will the
addition of the Aaron law to this act going to improve computer security? Is the government just
playing with terms and phase, or can this amendment true help protect our systems and how will
hacking be handled in the future? I will outline that our government is merely addressing hacking
on a, as it happened bases compared to the European Unionand does not clearly define the modern
issue that we are handling or what they will become.
The Computer Fraud Abuse Act (18 USC 1030) is legislation that was first enacted in 1986 to
clarify the existing computer fraud law created in 1984 it helped to identify and speak to
malicious code and hacking attacks. The legislation identifies what is consider a crime and were
the line are between crime and code are. Even though the Act clearly details what is not
acceptable, it falls short in today s modern time. The act was constructed in a time well before the

  • 2. Dance Concert Research Paper Dance Concert Reflection Essay Last week was such an amazing experience! I m so thankful to have had the opportunity to dance with all my wonderful 4th period friends and take part in the Fall Show, Subsequent , with the rest of the BHS Dancers (including my wonderful big, Lindsey)! I m really proud of how the dance department did as a whole. I love dancing at Brookwood High School because it s so different than the strict ballet setting that I m used to at my studio. It is also very special to be part of something at my school. As a Sugarloaf Ballet Company Dancer, I ve not had this experience before. Dance has always been separate from my school. It is so exciting to be able to say that I dance for Ms. Ellen at Brookwood High School. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I hope this will begin to change as I have more exposure to these styles of dance, as I have not taken very many classes in these genres. I have found it very intriguing and enjoyable to study new styles of dance. As for what I have accomplished so far, I ve really enjoyed being able to branch out from the environment I ve become accustomed to the last eleven years. I even like jazz, a style I was never too fond of before this year. As for goals for next semester, I d like to learn to utilize improvisation better by learning to be more creative in my movements when I improvise. I d also like to loosen up more, and be able to do hip hop much better. Honestly, my goal is to become a better and well rounded dancer through my involvement in Brookwood High School Dance. As much as I like exploring other styles, I would like to do some ballet and maybe a little pointe work. I would enjoy getting to do some of the styles that have made me into the dancer I am so far. But of course, I see the value of all of the styles of dance so please understand I am all in whatever style we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Art Integration Case Study Essay Research Problem Schools and educators are beginning to understand the value of inclusion of art education in K 12 curriculum more and more each year. So much so, that many states are adopting common core standards and hiring highly qualify teachers to teach in the subject area of visual arts. Research over the past decade reveals areas where effective arts education strategies, especially arts integration techniques, have yielded practical and impressive results, (Education Digest, 2011). Part of what is driving this initiative is the understanding that some students learn most effectively through the arts (Robinson, 2013). Recent research reflects that art integration correlates with low performing learners by increasing test scores. Studies conducted in North Carolina and Oklahoma with art integration programs tracked consistent gains in student achievement as compared with state and district averages ... • 4. Scurvy Scurvy is the state of Vitamin C deficiency. As the human body cannot produce vitamin C, serum levels of this vitamin are solely dependent on dietary intake mainly from vegetables and fruits. Vitamin C has an essential role in collagen formation of skin, gums, bones, and mucus membranes. It also protects DNA, protein, and vessel walls from damage. Although scurvy is thought to be very rare nowadays, it still can be found in elderly, college students and children who maintain poor diet on daily basis . In general, it takes around 3 months for symptoms and signs to appear, ranging from fever, fatigue, easy bruising, gum hypertrophy, poor wound healing, perifollicular hemorrhages, anemia, and edema; to mood changes, depression, seizures, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One study in the UK showed that in 2008 the weighted prevalence of low levels of VitaminC (s history and clinical examination are powerful tools to reach to an accurate diagnosis. However, it may be difficult to reach to the diagnosis of scurvy especially when common symptoms are absent. The classical findings in scurvy are swollen gums and gingival bleeding and those were not present in this case. In fact, some studies reported rare manifestations of scurvy such a patient that initially presented with anorexia nervosa and was eventually diagnosed with scurvy. In two separate case reports, scurvy patients were admitted to a hospital after presenting with orthostatic hypotension and hematochezia. The patient on this case report presented with perifollicular hemorrhages and ecchymoses on his lower extremities, and despite poor dental hygiene, he did not have gingival hypertrophy, and denied gum bleeding. In a similar report, a 38 year old male presented with knee pain, easy bruising but had gingival bleeding, which may have suggested a more clear suspicion of Vitamin C deficiency, and another presentation reported a 54 year old female with similar presentation as our patient but who also complained of weight ... • 6. Divergent Competitiveness 1.50CREATIVITY AND GENERAL MENTAL ABILITY Convergent thinking is defined as the ability to apply conventional and logical search, recognition, and decision making strategies to stored information in order to produce an already known answer (Cropley, 2006). Divergent thinking, by contrast, is defined as the ability to produce new approaches and original ideas by forming unexpected combinations from available information and by applying such abilities as semantic flexibility, and fluency of association, ideation, and transformation (Guilford, 1959, as cited in Cropley, 2006, p. 1). Divergent thinking brings forth answers that may never have existed before and are often novel, unusual, or surprising (Cropley, 2006). Guilford (1967) introduced convergent and divergent thinking as part of a set of five operations that apply in his Structure of Intellect model (SOI model) on six products and four kinds of content, to produce 120 different factors of cognitive abilities. With the SOI model Guilford wanted to give the construct of intelligence a comprehensive model. After these new constructs were introduced and defined, tests for convergent and divergent thinking emerged. Despite the fact that Guilford reported... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Summary Of Howard Zinn sPeople s History Of The Unites States Unit 1 Exam The United States at the end of the 19th century was a breeding ground for big business and the strong connection it achieved with the government. At this point the wealthy has monopolized the country and the government has stepped aside corrupting the foundation in which it was meant for the people.History is interpreted in different ways. In Howard Zinn s People s history of the Unites States , his views of the Government playing into the hands of the wealthy is one that shows the truth of how life was really like during the turn of the 19th century. At the end of the Reconstruction, the country took the next step in the industrial ladder. At this time, many fortunes are made with the help of the immigrants and the corruption of the government. People like J.P. Morgan sold defective guns during the Civil War and with the help of the government, a federal judge upheld the deal as the fulfillment of a valid legal contract (Zinn 255) . The railroad became a big staple in the American country was only possible with the blood, sweat, politics and thievery (Zinn 254) , as the wealthy few, contracted cheap labor and gave bribes in Washington to get the land they needed to further expend the railroad. The government an establishment for the people, ignored the suffrage of the poor and stood there as the country began to monopolize under the grasp of the few elites. In the other end A History of the American People by Paul Johnson depicts the acts of the Gilded Age as a fundamental foothold in the United States. For Johnson, the rapid growth of the country is thanks to the few who rose from the rest, to establish the core of the economy. The government was a key player in the involvement of the railroad and in Johnson s argument he says The railroads were subsidized and legally privileged (Johnson 533) . He explains the vast help of the government, toward the wealthy as a crucial step in accomplishing the impossible. In addition the article What Social Classes Owe to Each Other (1883) by William Graham Sumnerargues that the few who managed to break through the barrier of the lower class was not with the help of others or the government, but by their own efforts and cleverness that got them to ... Teens Tend Model Suicide Behaviors As youth grow and continue to develop they tend to engage in suicidal behaviors due to modeling, according to Insel and Gould (2008) teens tend model suicide behaviors due to exposure in the media, exposure from other suicidal peers and a cluster of suicides in their general area. A comprehensive image of risk in young people requires also the consideration of the family s psychopathology and environmental properties. He had five siblings (four brothers and a sister) and was the second of six children. Ilya Tchaikovsky, Peter s father, was of Ukrainian and Polish descent and was a mining business executive in Votkinsk. His mother, Aleksandra Assier, was of French and Russian heritage. Tchaikovsky musical experience began at the age of 5 when he began to take up the pianofrom his mother, whose playing and singing Tchaikovsky enjoyed very much. It was during his tenure at Moscow Conservatory that Tchaikovsky wrote Swan Lake (his first ballet), Eugene Onegin (his first opera), his first four symphonies for orchestra, and his widely popular Piano Concerto No. 1 in B flat minor, Op. 23. Throughout the middle of his life, Tchaikovsky experienced traumatic life experiences; from failed relationships and homosexual struggles that caused him personal grief, to an attempted suicide in 1877, his emotional turmoil forced doctors to order him to leave Russia for his own well being. It was during his time in Europe and Switzerland that Tchaikovsky composed his Violin Concerto in D and completed his Symphony No. 4, which was inspired by folk songs of his homeland. Tchaikovsky also played an important role in the musical development of Sergei Rachmaninoff, as Rachmaninoff studied Tchaikovsky s music under the tutelage of composer Aleksandr Zverev. • 10. The Theory Of Human Development Essay Human development does not exist in stasis it is constantly in flux. The outcomes of human development are intrinsically linked to overarching power structures, and include psychological dimensions including social recognition. Thus, development is dynamic and highly contextualised it is governed by socio economic class, domestic politics, geographical location, and the wider institutional context. Working within a particular framework requires acknowledging that concepts of human developmentare implicated in the power structures which govern policies. Yet, human development is not fixed in numerical measures of development, but rather, the outcomes of human capitalare heavily influenced by the social context in which development occurs. Brazil s economic growth and shifts in the wake of structural adjustment have coincided with the wider shifts in development rhetoric which emphasize inclusive economic growth and human development. Yet, whether new social safety nets provide will eventually provide an avenue for increased political participation and growing social mobility remains speculative. Distinguishing social welfare from human capital accumulation, I will argue CCTs, as social safety net policies emphasis on data collection constitutes a thin approach to welfare. Then I will propose that the extension of service provision, CCT programmes could build human capital accumulation. However, due to the overarching political drivers of statist and ... • 11. Examine Why Multinational Corporations Seek to Transfer... The HRM policy of a firm is looked as a most important strength which needs to be taken care of all the time to have a competitive advantage within the industry they operating in. Multinational corporations (MNCs) seek to transfer their home country human resource management (HRM) practices to their overseas subsidiary as to them it is just another approach towards globalisation. It can be an element of success for MNCs if they manage to transfer these HRM practices across their subsidiaries in an effective manner. An effective transition of these policies depends on the organisational, cultural, social and relational factors (Bartlett amp; Ghoshal 1998; Evans, Pucik amp; Barsoux 2002; Poedenphant 2002). The transition of these policies... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The whole procedure of international strategy is from adopting the policies implemented from the parent company to the enhancement of the competencies developed at the subsidiary, which will complement the organization on the whole. International experience is also one of the factors that push a MNC to implement the home country HRM policies across their subsidiaries. It depends on how long a MNC has been active in their international operations that impact the nature of their decision while implementing HR policies across their subsidiaries. Having a lack of international experience, a MNC will make their subsidiaries adopt their home country policies (The effect of corporate level organisational factors on the transfer of human resource management practices: European and US MNCs and their Greek subsidiaries, Barbara Myloni,July 2006). A MNC with more international experience is less likely to adapt their home country policies as the more a firm gains international experience, the less dominant their home country HR policies become. Looking from the dependency theory s point of view, the need for control also pushes a MNC to implement their home based policies. The stronger the need is, the more the necessity of integrating these policies will grow, and hence there is a probability that the HR practice will resemble the home country practices. The more dependent a subsidiary is to their parent, the more the firm will try ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This proves that being denied an abortion when needed or wanted can have devastating consequences on a woman s mental health. Finally, abortions give women the opportunity to not deliver a baby when it is revealed that it has a deadly or incurable disease. In conclusion, every one of these problems could have been solved with the access of safe abortion clinics. • 13. What Is The Difference Between Igbo And Ibo The Ibo village and Maine are very different cultures and celebrate things differently. In the village, Okonowko has 2 titles in his young age. He is a hard working man and he doesn t like festivals because he would rather be farming his land. Some similarities between Okonowko s village of Ibo and Maine are that both harvestfestivals have music. In the village of Ibo they beat on loud drums and in Maine we have a band playing covers of songs during a harvest festival. Also, in Maine we come together during this celebration and talk to each other and the same goes for the village people. In Maine and Ibo there are events that are planned for the festival, giving the people things to do there. In contrast, the harvest festival is different for both communities. During the Village of Ibo s harvest festival they praise there earth goddess because they believe she is the judge of morality and conduct, in Maine we don t do so because there are many different types of religions within Maine. Also, in Ibo they have wrestling matches and in Maine we don t participate in wrestling matches for the harvest festival. Instead, in Maine we walk around to food stands and look at decorated pumpkins. From this evidence I can assume that religion is a priority in the Ibo village, where as socializing is Maine s priority during its harvest festivals. In the Ibo village, their justice court is very similar to Maine s. In both societies a group of people listen to the two different sides of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, during the fights, many men were lost, including another of Benjamin Martin s sons, Gabriel. After Gabriel s death, Martin s fears were solidified and vowed not to fight for anyone s causes. However, he realized that being a true patriot was the only way to honor his son s deaths, so he fought for the cause of freedom and was truly victorious in his fights. While The Patriot was a very successful major motion picture, characters from the movie actually mirror those of characters that were indeed real. Colonel Tavington s character is based on the life of Lt. Col. Banastre Tarleton the subordinate of Lt. General Charles Earl Cornwallis of the British Army. Benjamin Martin s character was based on Francis Marion (which is also now a famous hotel in historic downtown Charleston), also known as Swamp Fox fought Indians. While the global economic condition is still recovering from crisis, many argue that the process is uneven and susceptible to shock (Bank Indonesia, 2015). The recovery process tends to slow down as there is weakened commodity prices and foreign investment, and these factors are inevitably affecting the growth rate of Indonesia. GDP growth is falling from 6.3% in 2007 to a forecasted growth rate of 5.5% in 2015 (Asian Development Bank, 2015). In this case, as a financial intermediary, banks have a strategic role in supporting the national economic growth. It is believed that efficient banking system is essential for the country development. Therefore, a study looking at the efficiency and profitability of Indonesian banks is substantial as it will signal the growth of the Indonesian economy in the future. According to Bloomberg, the lenders in Indonesia have the most profits among the top 20 economies in the world (Vallikappen and Moestafa, 2013). The data shows that Indonesian banks have higher profitability than other Southeast Asian (ASEAN) countries due to high demand for credit. It can be seen that banks in Indonesia tend to have high net interest margin (NIM), which demonstrates the ability of traditional bank activities to generate interest based income. The steam engine was used to make transportation easier and more convenient for people. While both inventions helped groups of people get what they wanted to survive and thrive for many years, the Steam Engineis more superior compared to the Maxim. When it came to weaponry Great Britain was always ahead of the game. Always trading old weapons while having new weapons with them at all times. The most powerful weapon at that time was the Maxim gun. The Maxim was invented by Hiram Maxim in 1883. Great Britain was one of the most dominant countries who wanted Afric. Technology was what could explain their dominance. When they took parts of Africa the Africans were unable to fight against them. That was because they could not fight with arrows and a shotgun, while their opponents had a machine gun waiting for them. Great Britain always had the best weapons. The Maxim was the ultimate weapon. It was a machine gun that no one could stop. Though the Maxim did what it was made to do, which was showing dominance and getting territory, it only helped a specific group of people. Since it was a gun it was obviously used to kill people. The only people in Africa at the time were Africans. The Maxim was only used for dominance and claiming territory, because it looked like no other gun at that time. Not really used to help the continent let alone help the world. While both inventions helped people achieve their goals one helped more people than the other. The Steam Engine as stated before helped many miners do their job and get a paycheck. It is also more significant because it became another idea, and sparked new inventions. Being out in the barn, working, caring for the goats, cleaning, learning and teaching, has allowed me an outlet to flourish and learn by doing. Dione and Bing were the parents of Stella and her brother, Jack, and Dione had an easy kidding with them in 2013 and before I bought her. They produced wonderful babies, fit with the qualities of a good goat. Who I should breed Stella with was the hard choice. I also needed a gentle buck to be nice to her, a first time mom. I was also seeking a buck with unique colorings. Stella is a black goat with a grayish fiber, and I wanted to add some diversity to my herd. I ended up deciding to breed her with Mira, a brown goat who was very sweet. • 26. Slavery In The Antebellum American South Race as a social construct, a pseudo biological concept, and an identifying demographic has undeniably been ubiquitous in the history of human otherness. In particular, the ascribing of racial identities to a group, or racialization , has played a vital role in the conception and development of minority groups. This phenomenon continues to shape ideas about race and ethnicity, albeit in less dramatic ways than in the antebellum South. Nevertheless, people blinded by privilege claim that they are colorblind or that society has moved into a post racial paradigm. It is, therefore, especially relevant to examine processes of racialization that have defined and maintained the social concept of race throughout history. A prominent historical instance of racialization that influenced modern day race identity is the objectification and commoditization of black peoplein Southern slave markets of the antebellum era. As a consequence of the chattel principle, which defined a slave s existence as property of a slaveholder, Black Americans identities were permanently altered by those who used their positions of power to subjugate and dehumanize them, either deliberately or tacitly. The problem with the pieces of art that were under analysis was that there was a lack of textual evidence concerning the value of those ritual vessels as well as of other artworks that Bagley uses to develop his argument. Nevertheless, such approach allows him to indicate the weaknesses in the reasoning and, in this way, make his reasoning stronger. For example, Bagley puts an emphasis on the need to consider not only the potential symbolism of the painted elements but also to research the history of the elements and how they were used before. Bagley writes, No inventory of meanings will ever be enough to explain the appearance of the Lindisfarne page or the appearance of a Shang bronze , and he expresses reasonable claim here defending the idea of decorative value of respective elements (8). If the meaning of the ornaments was only characterized by symbolism and devoted to the beliefs expression, there would be no place for changes in the use of ornaments in definite time or otherwise. Nevertheless, the change of beliefs system did not always result in the change of decoration that were used. For instance, the description of the Erligang phase with the painted animals could not be applied to the pre Anyang bronzes showing no presence of the same images, as Bagley claims in his work (22 23). All that mattered was money, not the people. Chaucer utilizes his satirical comments and remarks against the Prioress, the Monk and the Friar to show that the Church has become detrimental, in lieu of being a place of hope and charity. • 40. Is Activity Based Costing ( Abc ) Essay The first cost system of this part of this essay is activity based costing (ABC). Cooper and Kaplan (1988) implemented ABC for taking care of issues of Traditional costing frameworks. For allocating costs, Tradtional costing uses a single number like the machine hours or the direct labour hour, also cost allocations are volume based. Comparing ABC with Traditional Costing Systems, ABC include all activities for a product, to making it easier to more accurately measure and allocate costs (Cooper, 1990; Cokins, Strat ton, Helbling, 1993). It moves away from assigning costs to individual products but rather to activities or processes, which allows for assigning a larger part of overhead costs to specific cost units (Cooper Kaplan, 1988; Friedman Lyne, 1997). Also important to know is that ABC define all the company activities as value adding or non value adding activities (Cooper Kaplan, 2005). Non value added activities create waste, result in postponement, add expenses to the items, or for which cost clients are not willing to pay. ABC helps an association in discovering chances to streamline or lessen the expenses, or wipes out the whole movement, particularly if there is no esteem added viewpoint to it (Drury, 2012). Many have the believe that ABC is better than Traditional Costing because ABC say more about the driven costs, and can split on any single activity and receives so more accurate cost details (Akyol, Tuncel, Bayhan, 2007; Kee, 1995). • 47. The Washington Family Analysis The Washington Family by Edward Savage, painted from 1789 1796, features American s original First Family. (Fig. 1) George Washington sits around a table in his Mount Vernon home with his wife, Martha and her two grandchildren, whom the Washingtons adopted following the death of their parents. Behind them, a household slave stands ready to serve and a vast landscape sprawls outside the window. Though the painting appears to be a simple, familyportrait, it actually contains deeper, political messages. Savage depicts George Washingtonin a domestic setting to showcase his personal life outside of the presidency; he is depicted with his family and in his private home. However, he is also shown in uniform, alluding to his role as general. He does not grasp his sword, but instead rests his hand on a stack of papers, representing his role as statesman. It was well known that Washington intended to step out of the public sphere following the war before being elected, and that he continued to long for a quiet life at home throughout his presidency. In this work, Savage depicts Washington filling roles of general, statesman and patriarch, making the statement that he can fulfil all three roles.
