This document outlines the structure and progress of the IPCC's Sixth Assessment Report Working Group I report on the physical science basis of climate change. It describes the 12 planned chapters which will cover topics like observed changes to the climate system, human influences on climate, future climate projections, and linking global and regional climate impacts. It provides the outline for the previous Fifth Assessment Report for comparison. It also lists the lead authors and schedule for the review and approval process, including literature deadlines and four Lead Author Meetings between 2018-2021. In concluding, it provides links and contact information for further IPCC resources and engagement.
