- Ok!We will talk about the main point latter, now I will introduce about some common bones.This part is a little bit boring, but I think that we should know about it, so please talk with me.
- I have a question for you guys, have you ever had a broken leg or arm?Luckily, I have not. And I hope I would not have in the future, cuz it’s dangerous.
- These are 2 pictures of thigh bone.You guys can easily notice that these thigh bone were broken.As you can see, inside the cirle, that’s the break. That’s the way I call it yesterday, but from now on, we will call it fracture.
- There are some different types of fractureCompound is similar to displacedBut the bone will pierce the skinGreenstick: The bone is bent, It occurs mainly in children.Displaced: The bone pieces are seprated.Comminuted: The bone is broken into several pieces.Impacted: The broken pieces are pushed together.Compound: There is a break in the skin.
- The Treatment of fractures can be found in our student book, so I will introduce about the ‘Operation procedure’Plaster of Paris is one of the most common methods used to immobilise a limb. (cốđịnh chi)
- Small incisions are made in the skin on either side of the break. Metal pins or screws are placed into the bone on either side of the break through these incisions.A fixator (bar) is attached to the pins on the ends that sit outside the body.
