1. Unit Plan Abstract
The topic of my Unit Plan was the Continents. Each day of the plan focuses on
different information relevant to the continents. For the first day there is an introduction to
the continents that focuses on what the continents are, what oceans are, and what makes
them different. The introduction day also distinguishes the difference between a globe and
a map. The second day of the Unit Plan is all about learning the location of the continents.
The third day is focused on important features of the continents. These important features
include physical features and important landmarks. Knowing important features and
landmarks will help students begin to make associations with the continents and what can
be found on the continent. The fourth day of the Unit Plan is about the people and animals
found on the continent. This day highlights the culture of the people on each continent,
including the most popular languages, religions, and cuisine. This day also points out the
population of each continent and some animals found on each one. The final day is about
practicing what they learned and their project- robotics. The Unit Plan includes a wide
variety of evaluation methods and a wide variety of methods for learning. There are many
methods of evaluation so I can constantly monitor the progress of the students and see if
they are grasping all concepts. The technology is varied and includes something for every
type of learner.
