Spain has three watersheds that differ in the length and flow of their rivers. The Atlantic watershed contains long rivers like the Miño, Duero, Tajo, Guadiana and Guadalquivir which have an irregular flow that is high in winter and low in summer. The Cantabrian watershed features short rivers such as the Nervión, Nalón and Navia that have abundant water year-round due to heavy rainfall. The Mediterranean watershed is home to short rivers like the Ebro, Jucar and Segura that experience irregular flows depending on the season, except for the Ebro which is Spain's longest and most abundant river.
