This document outlines the topics, readings, and assignments for Weeks 3 and 4 of an online course. Week 3 focuses on the research process, library navigation, annotated bibliographies, and preparing for the Unit 3 research assignment. Readings are from the course textbook and include examples. Assignments include blog posts, responses, quizzes, and submitting an annotated bibliography. Week 4 covers writing an essay proposal, making sense of research, and submitting a topic proposal. Readings and examples are provided to help with the topic brainstorming assignment.

1. UNIT 2: The Research Process
Over the course of each week, you are responsible for covering the subsequent material. There
will be materials in the “Handouts” portion of each unit that will help you learn each topic.
Weekly readings will often coincide with that week’s blog post. You are responsible for
blocking off the required amount of time to work on this class each week.
