An old farmer had four lazy sons who often quarreled. To teach them the importance of unity, the farmer had them try to break a bundle of sticks tied together and then single sticks after it was untied. While the bundle could not be broken, the single sticks broke easily. The farmer explained that unity makes them strong while disunity makes them weak. The sons learned their lesson and lived peacefully thereafter.

2. Once there was an old farmer .He was very rich and prosperous .He had four sons but all of them were lazy and ease loving .They always quarreled among themselves .

3. His father advised them to take interest in work but they turned a deaf ear to him. The old man was always worried about their future and wanted to teach them the importance of unity.

4. One day he called his sons and told them that his days were numbered

5. He asked them to bring bundle of sticks and break it . All of them tried to break it but they failed because the sticks were firmly tied together.

6. When all of them proved failure then the father asked them to unite the bundle and gave one stick to each.

7. Now they broke it easily .The father awaited himself of the opportunity and told them the secret of unity .

8. He told his sons that if they lived united like the bundle of sticks no harm will come to them and prosperity will touch their feet and they will roll in wealth

9. In case they lived disunited they would be ruined .The sons realized and learnt a lesson . Since then they never picked up quarrel among them and always lived in peace and harmony .

10. MORAL:-Union is Strength and disunion is weakness .
