Social and psychological training
Development of assessing assessment skills (screening)
Aims:
Acquisition of abilities to monitor emotions and behaviours after an extreme event.
The different response patterns were discussed as well as the possibilities of
accompanying people affected from the paradigm of psychological first aid.
• Learning outcomes:
• Demonstrate a critical awareness of the role of screening skills within
everyday work
• Critically evaluate the possibilities and limitations of screening methods
• Critically review key tools and resources valid for mental health and
psychosocial screening
• Identify the needs of key stake holders within extreme events
• Deal with complex issues both systematically and creatively involving
support

Life skills
• CV and motivation letters
Aims: To get competencies for applying counselling and coaching to the
final users in order to help them to identify their key skills and give them
tips/hints to write accurately their qualifications and achievements in CV
and motivation letters.
The module presented key elements for the individual self-assessment
(identification of personal skills, potential add value), strategies to match
skills with job requirements, resources and interests.
• Learning outcomes: the participants disposed of their own
professional portfolio and they had notions about how to advice
young job-seekers in the design and content of their CV and
motivation letters.
• Job interviews
Aims: To get competencies in applying counselling and coaching activities
in the field of job-search assistance.The module presented key elements
for the determination of the professional aim, based on the individual self-
assessment of needs, attitude towards the interview, preparation,
resources and interests.
• As learning outcomes, the participants will dispose of their own
professional portfolio and key job-seeking tools.

Life skills
• Basic communication skills
Aims: Uunderstanding and developing some listening competencies
when working, assessing and relating to refugees. Participants learnt
some communication techniques by using different models & theories
such as non-violent and empathetic communication.
Furthermore, it specifically focused on sensitization for individual
communicative strengths and weaknesses, deeper understanding of
their own communication patterns and participants developed and
exercised real cases and situations so they would role play later will
with end users of the University’s Service.
• The following competencies were taught by introductory inputs and
practical exercises:
• Listening skills
• Empathetic listening
• Compassionate listening

Study visit to the UB. Barcelona
28-30 November 2018
• The aim of the study visit was to show the
attendants what are the work lines of the
UB Refugee Support Programme, the
internal and external networks (NGOs,
local administration) that the Program is
creating and feeding and the collaborations
stablished.
• UB technical staff, members of the
Barcelona City Council, members of NGOs,
refugee students and UB student
volunteers participated in the study visits
as speakers

UNIMED WEEK IN BRUSSELS 19-21 MARCH 2019 Social and psychological training Development of assessing assessment skills (screening) Aims: Acquisition of abilities to monitor emotions and behaviours after an extreme event. The different response patterns were discussed as well as the possibilities of accompanying people affected from the paradigm of psychological first aid. • Learning outcomes: • Demonstrate a critical awareness of the role of screening skills within everyday work • Critically evaluate the possibilities and limitations of screening methods • Critically review key tools and resources valid for mental health and psychosocial screening • Identify the needs of key stake holders within extreme events • Deal with complex issues both systematically and creatively involving support

UNIMED WEEK IN BRUSSELS 19-21 MARCH 2019 Life skills • CV and motivation letters Aims: To get competencies for applying counselling and coaching to the final users in order to help them to identify their key skills and give them tips/hints to write accurately their qualifications and achievements in CV and motivation letters. The module presented key elements for the individual self-assessment (identification of personal skills, potential add value), strategies to match skills with job requirements, resources and interests. • Learning outcomes: the participants disposed of their own professional portfolio and they had notions about how to advice young job-seekers in the design and content of their CV and motivation letters. • Job interviews Aims: To get competencies in applying counselling and coaching activities in the field of job-search assistance.The module presented key elements for the determination of the professional aim, based on the individual self- assessment of needs, attitude towards the interview, preparation, resources and interests. • As learning outcomes, the participants will dispose of their own professional portfolio and key job-seeking tools.

UNIMED WEEK IN BRUSSELS 19-21 MARCH 2019 Life skills • Basic communication skills Aims: Uunderstanding and developing some listening competencies when working, assessing and relating to refugees. Participants learnt some communication techniques by using different models & theories such as non-violent and empathetic communication. Furthermore, it specifically focused on sensitization for individual communicative strengths and weaknesses, deeper understanding of their own communication patterns and participants developed and exercised real cases and situations so they would role play later will with end users of the University’s Service. • The following competencies were taught by introductory inputs and practical exercises: • Listening skills • Empathetic listening • Compassionate listening
  • 10. UNIMED WEEK IN BRUSSELS 19-21 MARCH 2019 Study visit to the UB. Barcelona 28-30 November 2018 • The aim of the study visit was to show the attendants what are the work lines of the UB Refugee Support Programme, the internal and external networks (NGOs, local administration) that the Program is creating and feeding and the collaborations stablished. • UB technical staff, members of the Barcelona City Council, members of NGOs, refugee students and UB student volunteers participated in the study visits as speakers

UNIMED WEEK IN BRUSSELS 19-21 MARCH 2019 Beyond the “classical” capacity building • Cooperation with Universities with different schemes and needs • Empowerment and bes understanding of particular needs and behaviours • Institutionally, increase the potential cooperation among universities after the end of the project • Approach to the refugee and IDP situation in each country To deepen in the social responsability action and the concept of agent of transformation
