To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to you today to recommend Ms. Cassandra Scollick for the desired position applied for to your
hospital, and I wish to thank you in advance for your consideration of this letter, written without hesitation or
reservation of any kind.
It is indeed a pleasure for me to put my thoughts about Cassandra on paper for you, and I do so from the vantage
point of someone who has known this fabulous young lady from the time of her birth. During the ensuing years I
have been witness to Cassandra’s positive and progressive personal growth and development, which have been in
frequent contest with many difficulties that have been thrust upon her life. And despite these challenges, she has
never wavered from the moral character that defines her, the goals for her future that motivate her, or the family
that guides her. My respect for her accomplishments as a College graduate with her BSN, an athlete, and a person
are without parallel, and I am proud to affirm that Cassandra will be a reverent steward of the investment you make
in her with this job opportunity. I know she will accomplish all she sets out to achieve.
As the twin daughter of a high school English teacher and single mom, Cassandra knows well the meaning of
sacrifice and the imperative of scholarship. She has been raised with the expectation for a college degree that
compliments her passion in life. For Cassandra, that passion has led her to pursue and accomplish the service of
others with a Bachelors degree in Nursing, and for that I could not be more proud. And as a nurse, Cassandra and
the patients she cares for will no doubt benefit from her intellect but also from her demonstrated capacity for
teamwork, patient advocacy and the dedication of purpose beyond one’s self so uniquely learned as a member of
her college club and high school athletic teams. As a physical therapist and business owner, it just the kind of
person exemplified by Cassandra’s activities and scholastic achievement that I hope to employ. In that sense then,
there is no doubt of Cassandra’s future success provided she is the chosen candidate for your position.
Cassandra has been recognized as a Scholar Athlete as well as college scholar on every level and in every sport she
has played throughout her high school career, including her Soccer,Softball, and Track teams. Throughout her
demanding college career, she always held a job or two and balanced school while managing to stay on the
President’s List at California State University Long Beach and the Provost’s List at California Baptist University.
In addition, Cassandra has been honored for her efforts in helping others with the Community Service Athlete
Award tendered her each year, and she has won many Scholastic Achievement Awards, maintaining a GPA of 4.0
amidst the dedication of time to her teams and to her community. While holding two jobs and maintaining her 3.5
college GPA, she also showed compassion in volunteering at TRAX Equestrian Center, which focused on helping
rehabilitate special needs children while strengthening their muscles and knowledge while riding the horse. In short,
Cassandra knows what it means to participate, to belong, to work and to sacrifice, and importantly, to accomplish.
In knowing her, I am filled with the affirmation that comes with believing in someone whom undoubtedly will
always make me proud. If awarded this scholarship, I know she will make you proud as well.
Sincerely and Respectfully Submitted,
George A. Erb
