Open data, geospatial data and geoinformation to empower young peopleKarl Donert
A presentation at the 100th anniversary conference of the Bulgarian Geographers in Sofia, Bulgaria on 3rd November 2018 about the YouthMetre Project and its role of empowering youth with access to open geographic information and in enabling people politics through a data dashboard. The YouthMetre project (youthmetre.eu) encourages youth to engage in European Youth Policy.
Helsinki Region Infoshare - Experiences from open data - presentation in English from December 2013. Featuring a case: How open decision making data from City of Helsinki has been used.
In this talk, I survey a series of research works in which I have collaborated during the last 5 years about data science applications on digital platforms for citizen participation. In particular, I describe solutions that we have developed for the analysis of discussion and controversy in web forums, the classification of the intention of messages in microblogging systems, the search and recommendation of citizen proposals, the extraction of argumentative information and access to contents of electronic participatory budgets through a conversational agent. For some of them, I will give a brief introduction to related research areas, such as web crawling and scraping, argument mining, and recommender systems.
Promoting Geospatial Education in EuropeKarl Donert
Slides from a Directions Magazine webinar where Karl Donert explores the challenges facing Europe in the development of geospatial education. He explores how open data, open science and open education are key to future economic and social policies. Then the value of open geospatial information is described and this is confirmed through the GI-Learner and YouthMetre Projects that Karl is involved in. The identify the importance of open data and the need for geospatial thinking.
The presentation looks at Knowledge 2050 a European policy report on Europe's future needs.
The presentation describes and explains projects undertaken by EUROGEO to integrate open data in education. It was given to members of the Open Data Charter to inform and engage them in considering their role in promoting education developments,
The Open Data movement has mainly been a data provision movement. The release of Open Data is usually motivated by (i) government transparency (citizen access to government data), (ii) the development of services by third parties for the benefit for citizens and companies (typically smart city approach), or (iii) the development of new services that stimulate the economy. The success of the Open Data movement and its return on investment should therefore be assessed among other criteria by the number and impact of the services created based on those data. In this paper, we study the development of services based on open data and means to make the data opening process more effective.

Wireless communication involves the transmission of information over a distance without the help of wires, cables or any other forms of electrical conductors.
Wireless communication is a broad term that incorporates all procedures and forms of connecting and communicating between two or more devices using a wireless signal through wireless communication technologies and devices.
Features of Wireless Communication
The evolution of wireless technology has brought many advancements with its effective features.
The transmitted distance can be anywhere between a few meters (for example, a television's remote control) and thousands of kilometers (for example, radio communication).
Wireless communication can be used for cellular telephony, wireless access to the internet, wireless home networking, and so on.
