Cebu City is one of the fastest growing cities in the Philippines due to rapid urbanization and modernization. Over the years, the city's population has doubled with people moving there from all over the country for work, school, and opportunities. This large and dense population has led to problems with proper waste disposal, with Cebuanos producing about 237,250 metric tons of waste per year. To help address this issue of waste and potential health problems it can cause like disease, a group of nursing students and their adviser conducted a seminar and other health activities in Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City to teach residents about proper garbage segregation and disposal.
