BUNCH OR BULLET START
• The Toe of the back foot are about level with the
heel of the front foot.
• Both feet are placed behind the starting line.
• Toe to toe distance is said to be 25 to 30
centimetres.
• Athletes feet are closest together in compared to
the other start.
• Distance between the blocks should be 6 to 11
inches and front block should be 12 inches
behind the starting line.

• Toe to toe distance is to be 40 to 55
centimeters.
• The feet are closer together than the
elongated start but further apart than the
bullet start.
• It is in the middle so therefore called the
medium start
• The distance between the block is 16 to 21
inches.

ELONGATED START
• Sprinter has their knee of the back leg
level, or slightly behind the front foot’s
heel.
• The toe to toe distance is 60 to 70
centimeter.
• Sprinter’s feet are spread out farther than

be 22 to 26 inches.
