• Accent is a distinctive way of pronouncing a language,
especially one associated with a particular country, area,
or social class
• The problematic of the study
1. Different students has different types of accent
use in conversation.
The aim of this study is to investigate the types of
English accent use by the ELS students and what influence
them on using that type of accents.
Target audience – ELS UKM second year students

3. Objective
• To find the types accent use by the ELS students
• To find the reasons that influence them to use that type of
accent in a conversation

4. Research Questions
• What are the types of accent use by the ELS UKM second
year students?
• What are the influences that force the students on using
that type of accents when learning English language?

5. Significant of the Study
• The study will help the people on differentiate the English
accent use in a conversation such as British or American
• The study will help people on improving their listening
skills when detecting the types of accent use
