This document contains Tyler Wilson's portfolio from Keene State College, where he majored in Sustainable Product Design and Innovation. The portfolio includes descriptions and photos of several projects Tyler completed, including the Nauti Goat Grill portable barbecue, Ski Box portable ski carrier, reverse engineering bolt cutters, CNC machining parts for the Geneva Drive, and designing the CompataChair custom classroom chair.
3. NAUTI GOAT GRILL
PORTABLE BARBECUE
PROJECT DESCRIPTION MATERIALS USED
The goal of the Nauti Goat
Grill was to build a
cooking surface that was
easily transported and is
able to carry all essential
items for grilling in the
grill
22 Gauge Stainless
Steel
20 Gauge Steel
16 Gauge Steel
Steel Rivets
Oak Wood
8. SKI BOX
PORTABLE SKI CARRIER
THE PROBLEM:
Carrying equipment to and
from the ski mountain can
be a hassle. Many times
riders find themselves
tangled in their poles and
their skis causing
frustration.
THE SKI BOX SOLUTION:
Bill of Materials
• Urethane foam-weather proof
and protects the Skis and poles
from damage
• ABS Plastic material(Injection
Molded)-very durable and light
weight
A small portable Box
that allows you to
compactly carry your
skis and poles to and
from the mountain.
The design takes away
from the hassle it is to
transport your gear.
10. BOLT CUTTERS
REVERSE ENGINEER
PROJECT:
The goal of this project was to reverse
engineer a product and find out what
it cost to build the product through
materials and labor costs with
keeping the purchase of the original
product in mind which was $22.97.
MATERIAL ANALYSIS:
12. After research and Home
Depot’s 2016 total gross
profit of 34.19% in 2016, I
was able to come within 77
cents of the selling value of
the retail store.
LABOR COST:$1.31
MOVE TIME:$0.65
MATERIAL COST:$6.78
13. Geneva Drive
The goal of this project to was CNC 8 parts and have
them interact with one another. During this project skills
of CNC machining were acquired and the attention to
detail were very important to ensure a smooth fit.
14. COMPATA CHAIR
CUSTOM CHAIR DESIGN
THE PROBLEM:
The main goal of this project was to
develop a chair that improved
students learning abilities in the
classroom and to exceed classroom
functionality designs.
