This document presents data on treatment discharges and reasons for discharge from substance abuse treatment programs in Michigan in fiscal year 2012. It shows the number and percentage of discharges from each agency and the statewide totals. The most common reasons for discharge were completing treatment (29.3%), continuing in treatment (28.1%), and transferring to a different treatment program (24%). Less common reasons included mutual decision between staff and client (5.6%) and non-compliance with program rules (3.4%).
