The document discusses the tuktuktoParis project, which aims to raise awareness of climate change issues ahead of the COP21 conference in Paris. Specifically, it seeks to draw attention to the need for developed countries to contribute $150 billion to the Green Climate Fund to help developing countries adapt. The project involves various events in Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia to educate youth and the public about climate impacts and urge leaders to support funding commitments. Citizens are encouraged to get involved by signing petitions, sharing information on social media, and participating in art shows, debates and other activities leading up to COP21.

This year, governments will agree Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the period to 2030, and a new global climate agreement, to take effect from 2020. Together, these could set the course for environmental sustainability and human well-being this century. The agreements together offer a once-in-a generation opportunity to end extreme poverty, create climate resilience and avoid dangerous levels of climate change by committing to zero net carbon emissions.

Deep Learning has made a huge difference in many aspects of technology (speech recognition, computer vision). How is this powerful technique applied in basic biology research? In this presentation, I briefly review the history of machine learning and the breakthrough in deep learning. And gave an example of a regulatory model trained with deep neural nets.

What are the challenges for the Paris agreement in meeting the needs of Afric...rac_marion
The next international climate negotiations (COP21) will be held from 30 November to 11 December 2015 in Paris, France. The Paris summit will be decisive as it has to come up with an international climate agreement that keeps alive the hopes of limiting global warming to less than 2°C by 2100. The Climate & Development Network considers that this summit needs to address the dual challenge of combating both climate change and poverty in the worst affected countries. The RC&D is calling for an agreement which:
- Protects and enhances human rights and gender equality
- Finances the fight against climate change in the poorest and most vulnerable countries
- Invests massively in access to sustainable energy services for all
- Enables the most vulnerable people to cope with the impacts of climate change
- Preserves food security and the climate by investing massively in family and agro-ecological farming.

POWERING GROWTH FOR THE GLOBAL GREEN ECONOMY
As world leaders struggle to negotiate a new global climate deal, businesses across the globe are already addressing climate change together with many other urgent environmental issues, turning crises into opportunity through green leadership and innovation.
Companies are transforming the way they operate by developing new products and services to solve the world’s environmental challenges and reduce greenhouse emissions. Powering growth for a global green economy. But there’s still much to be done.
B4E, the Business for Environment Global Summit, is the leading international conference for dialogue and business-driven action for the environment. The 4th annual summit will be held in Seoul, South Korea, in April 2010. CEOs and senior executives from some of the world’s largest multinational corporations will join leaders from governments, international agencies and NGOs to discuss resource and energy efficiency, green growth strategies, clean tech innovations and partnerships.
Over three days of presentations, seminars and debate, B4E 2010 will galvanize the international business community into further action, highlighting the vital role that companies can play and inspiring them to become low carbon leaders.

2. 1. What is COP – Why is COP21 special?
COP is the Conference of Parties, an annual meeting under the framework of
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC),
where the Environment Ministers and diplomats from different countries
work together to find solutions for problems caused by Climate Change.
There are now 195 countries (or called as “parties”) that represent in annual
COP. In COP, each country government reports the status of greenhouse gas
emissions and submits the national strategies for coping with Climate
Change, which are then reviewed and assessed whether they follow the
progress of the convention. During these meetings, the parties also discuss
plans to achieve the ultimate objectives of the Convention.
For the first time in over 20 years of UN negotiations, COP21 2015 aims to
achieve a legally binding international climate agreement. Especially, world
leaders will meet in Paris to decide how to tackle climate change. One of the
most important decisions is the commitment of developed countries to
contribute to Green Climate Fund to help developing countries to cope with
(the adverse effects of) climate change from 2020 onwards. Rich countries
have to take responsibilities in supporting developing/poor countries, and
poor people, which are the most vulnerable to climate change.
Viet Nam is considered as one of the most affected countries by climate
change in Asia-Pacific region. With its long coastline, geographic location and
diverse topography and climate, Viet Nam has suffered from flood, typhoon,
sea level rise, and salinization, leading to economic and human losses.
2. What is tuktuktoParis project?
“TuktuktoParis” is the project launched in Viet Nam, The Philippines,
Thailand, and Indonesia. The project aims to draw public attention to the
world leaders’ commitments in COP21 in Paris, especially to the distribution
of financial aid to cope with climate change in developing countries, including
South East Asia region.
3. The project’s objectives:
- Raise public awareness of the importance of Adaption Fund to support
developing countries to cope with climate change, including ASEAN
countries.
- Draw people’s attention (by online petition or Facebook likes) in order to
urge the Ministers from ASEAN to put more pressure to reach the $150
billion Adaption Fund raising commitment in COP21 in Paris.
- Encourage young people to contribute active and creative solutions to
reduce impacts of climate change.
In Viet Nam, more than 10 events and activities will be held and expected to
attract at least 10000 citizens, especially youth. Art shows, debate
competitions, environmental education, ideas exhibitions… will be held in
different venues in Viet Nam to draw young people and public attention, and
to create positive influence towards the negotiation in Paris.
Why should you join in this project?
Because this is our future! Climate Change has had adverse effects on Viet
Nam, threatening to development opportunities of Vietnamese people,
especially the young generation! It’s now the time to take #tuktuktoParis
and to urge all ASEAN leaders to justifiably fight for the Adaption Fund
Raising in the Climate Negotiation in Paris this December! The fund is
estimated about b$150, or even more than that.
This budget seems to be a large amount of money! In fact, however, it is just a
small amount that rich countries, which bear more responsibilities for
causing climate change, have to pay compensation.
It is very essential to raise b$150 Adaption Fund for support developing
countries to install the natural disaster early warnings systems, to upgrade
infrastructure to cope with natural disasters, to support sustainable
agriculture, to ensure food security, to restore coastal mangrove forests, and
to invest in environmentally friendly industries, etc.
Now it’s time for us to raise our voices for our community – South East Asia.
Let’s urge our Environment Ministers to justifiably fight for the Adaption
Fund Raising in Climate Negotiations this year in Paris.
4. We don’t need to take a flight to Paris, but as active Vietnamese Citizens, we
can take action by raising our voice and taking creative actions. Let’s join
COP21 with us on the tuktuktoParis.
LET’S TAKE A BUS; LET’S GO TO PARIS!
3. How to get involved in the project?
Raising your voices and taking creative actions, Let’s:

programmes of supporting Climate Change Adaption in COP21 Paris at
