A screencast is a digital recording of computer screen output that often includes audio narration. It can be used for demonstrating software features, reporting bugs, computer-based training, and recording classes. Creating a screencast requires a computer, headphones or a microphone, and screen recording software like Screenflow for Mac or Jing which is available for both Mac and Windows. The steps to make a screencast include concept, pre-production, production, post-production, and publication/distribution.
