The SEC's Risk Alert and a Guide to Third Party Due Diligence Best PracticeCordium
The Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations (OCIE) recently issued a Risk Alert describing current industry trends and practices in investment advisers’ due diligence on alternative investment vehicles, as well as certain deficiencies observed in several of the advisory firms examined.
In response, Cordium is hosting a Webinar which will cover the SEC observations as related to third party due diligence background checks and best practice for advisers that are fiduciaries acting in the best interest of their clients with an open Question and Answer session to follow.
Please join the team at Cordium as they discuss some suggested best practice guidelines regarding third party due diligence background checks and the observations highlighted by the SEC in their recently issued Risk Alert.
Topics for discussion will include:
- Conducting comprehensive background checks of managers, key personnel and entities
- Verifying critical service provider relationships
- Performing regulatory history checks
- Review of offering document materials, information and data directly from the managers of alternative investments
- Validating information provided by managers of alternative investments
- Formalizing due diligence policies and procedures
- Annual reviews

Today, we take it for granted that our mobile devices and applications just work out of the box — smartphones can roam virtually anywhere in the world, laptops can seamlessly connect to any Wi-Fi access point & Bluetooth peripheral, and the videos recorded on one device can be played back perfectly on any other device.
The magic behind all this? Technology standards. Not only do they power a wide range of systems and devices but also bring many benefits to the broader technology ecosystem. At Qualcomm Technologies, we are leading the standardization of many key technologies that will move the world forward.

The 2019 Annual Report for the Government Technology & Services Coalition outlines the purpose, mission, activities, members and accomplishments of the non-profit homeland security organization. GTSC is also the owner of Homeland Security Today media platform.
The Government Technology & Services Coalition (GTSC) is a nonprofit, non-partisan association of innovative, agile small and midsized company CEOs that create, develop, and implement solutions for the Federal homeland and national security sector. These CEOs founded the Coalition to band together to work with their Federal partners to achieve their mission despite significant budget challenges by bringing the innovation, creativity and exceptionalism of successful small businesses to the homeland and national security mission. These CEOs — many former government officials — joined together to share best practices, information and resources to lead the initiatives and solutions that would bring the best of our community together to protect our homeland.
This annual report explores the activities and programs for the membership and the broader homeland security community.

Up the Ratios Bylaws - a Comprehensive Process of Our Organizationuptheratios
Up the Ratios is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap in STEM education for underprivileged students by providing free, high-quality learning opportunities in robotics and other STEM fields. Our mission is to empower the next generation of innovators, thinkers, and problem-solvers by offering a range of educational programs that foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
At Up the Ratios, we believe that every student, regardless of their socio-economic background, should have access to the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in today's technology-driven world. To achieve this, we host a variety of free classes, workshops, summer camps, and live lectures tailored to students from underserved communities. Our programs are designed to be engaging and hands-on, allowing students to explore the exciting world of robotics and STEM through practical, real-world applications.
Our free classes cover fundamental concepts in robotics, coding, and engineering, providing students with a strong foundation in these critical areas. Through our interactive workshops, students can dive deeper into specific topics, working on projects that challenge them to apply what they've learned and think creatively. Our summer camps offer an immersive experience where students can collaborate on larger projects, develop their teamwork skills, and gain confidence in their abilities.
In addition to our local programs, Up the Ratios is committed to making a global impact. We take donations of new and gently used robotics parts, which we then distribute to students and educational institutions in other countries. These donations help ensure that young learners worldwide have the resources they need to explore and excel in STEM fields. By supporting education in this way, we aim to nurture a global community of future leaders and innovators.
Our live lectures feature guest speakers from various STEM disciplines, including engineers, scientists, and industry professionals who share their knowledge and experiences with our students. These lectures provide valuable insights into potential career paths and inspire students to pursue their passions in STEM.
Up the Ratios relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers to continue our work. Contributions of time, expertise, and financial support are crucial to sustaining our programs and expanding our reach. Whether you're an individual passionate about education, a professional in the STEM field, or a company looking to give back to the community, there are many ways to get involved and make a difference.
We are proud of the positive impact we've had on the lives of countless students, many of whom have gone on to pursue higher education and careers in STEM. By providing these young minds with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed, we are not only changing their futures but also contributing to the advancement of technology and innovation on a broader scale.
Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.

ITF Future
Solicitation Toolkit
Targeted Broad Agency Announcement (BAA)
Accelerate the solution intake cycle for ITF’s traditional BAA submission process by using a more targeted and defined scope, with
the intention of reducing the cycle time by half. By implementing multiple targeted BAA solicitations, ITF can better respond to the
agency’s immediate needs and priorities. Targeted BAAs will be supplemented by additional intake methods.
Hackathon
Engage with broad Information Technology (IT) communities, including both the general public and the aviation security
enterprise, to quickly develop or assess IT products and systems that meet capability needs.
Prize Challenge
Organize research and prize challenges that facilitate the accelerated development of necessary technology solutions into prototype
systems that can be assessed and demonstrated. Challenges may involve monetary awards or incentives for their winners.
DHS Science & Technology Directorate (S&T)
Identify projects currently in the DHS S&T pipeline which are suitable for ITF demonstration and could help meet an identified
capability need. Suitable projects and solutions can be transferred to TSA without the need for an open solicitation.
