3. Seeking Something Greater
The ego is a tough nut to crack. I am not so different from the mass of people in the world in this:
Not until I needed Something Great-- maybe Spirit--
did I seek a “God” of my understanding.
This is the age- old path I took to seek out Something Greater…
To bypass ego or entrenched belief, when the disbeliever becomes willing,
he or she can test out truth by changing old attitudes for the time of testing.

4. It is true that Something Greater may find a way to prove itself regardless of belief,
but if I, the witness, am strong in disbelieving, will I be truly able to perceive it?
Letting go of the belief that there is no God, I learned to “act as if” there is a God.
I’ve found that I can also “act as if” there is truth in other things that I resist,
such as the teachings of the Prophets. …
An ego test for me might be in the letting go and being willing to try on something different,
for the good of myself and our world…

5. .....What IF???
Who am I to rule out something that could be of vital value just because I don’t feel like liking it?
What truth then will have a chance??
To turn from truth is deadly, yet truly what bad thing could happen,
in keeping my heart open to the Highest Height?
I only hope that I can do keep that honest, open, willing heart-- for what could be
the Greatest good ever for myself and for our world.

6. An Attitude Check
It’s true that certain rebellious attitudes of mine may have kept me from specific paths of investigation.
If I care about the truth, I may do well to ask myself the question:
“What part could I be playing in keeping myself from truth?”
and how can I change that?

7. .....What IF???
I sought a God of my own
understanding,
but wouldn’t it be better to
seek a "God of God's own
Higher understanding"???
Working with what is
Forgiving, Honoring, Accepting and Working with truth
could include accepting that…
I may not have the final understanding of Something Bigger than myself.

8. May I Keep my Heart Open
to the Highest Height
Any "Way" that could truly open
World Healing
is likely to have a core of
Spirit as well as Unity.
Both are vital for our planet.
The people I love have faults; I’ve learned to live with them and work
around them.
If I could have all my wishes, my home, the things and people in my life
might all be a great deal different than they are.
I’ve had to work with what is “on the market”, so to speak, and to learn that
I can’t have my way all the time.
I must accept what is.
And what I value is worth working with to get to that.

9. When it came to religion,
my attitude has not been so flexible
as with my home or the many material things I either get to change
or must accept as they are…
As for religion,
I would accept a teaching only if it agreed with all my expectations.
When I saw something I didn’t like, I was out the door!
Today a wiser me may ask,
“Is that any way to seek truth?”

10. To See Truth: A Forgiving Attitude
I have developed a forgiving attitude towards many things in life, in part out of necessary need.
But that was not so true with faith and surely not with the trappings of religion.
Religion and the Prophets seemingly claim to be perfect, so surely (I told myself)
I have the right to expect perfection!
But is that any way to seek truth?

11. Further down the road, I have found it vitally worthwhile for me to work with myself
in accepting that there may be something Greater than what’s between my ears.
There will always be things I don’t understand or like, but as in other areas of life,
am I willing to let go of having to have everything my way?
Can I hang on to the teachings that work for me, and for our world,
and keep an open mind on the rest of it,
allowing time for more to be revealed as regards other issues of concern? …

12. Just as I may have needed to “act as if” there was a God
in order to discover the truth of it
I can “act as if” there is truth in other things that I resist,
such as the teachings of the Prophets.
Am I willing to try this for a time,
to find the truth, for the good of myself and our world?

13. There are answers, even to whatever I may not yet be fully open to.
Coming from “I don’t Know”
Sometimes when we don’t know the truth of something, we can find out more by choosing a path that we believe may
be true— then we “act as if” it is true, trusting that results will reveal a clearer way. Being willing to let go of one’s own
ideas and live without answers, or even take on a foreign belief system for a time shows real humility and faith that are
necessary aspects of the open mind. The gift is that these grow and expand as one continues to practice them.

14. To turn truth away will ultimately limit and blind areas of our lives, but we can learn that the greatest safety is in the
open heart. We can take is as our guide, trusting in inner eyes and ears. Admitting that “I don’t know” can be scary, and
living in that even harder. It is vital that we think this through to become fully convinced that openness to what is true and
willingness to adapt to it is the better way. Many will also feel the need for help from a “power greater” than the mind;
however that is accessed or what we call that makes no difference.
There are times when all we can do is trust and "feel" our way towards what we think might be truth— and when we
get there, then we can decide whether it is true or not, as we choose. Sometimes we just have to live in “i don’t know, but I
think tit might be…” Almost as if blind or deaf, Spirit willing, we move through untried ground, with unseen help or some
wiser “eye” to guide us. No matter how inadequate it seems, there is often a "Bigger place"— whether we experience it
from outside or inside ourselves— that is more reliable than mind alone, which often guides us to nothing more than our
own ego.......

15. Our Purpose
is healing… to open the hearts to truth, to great possibilities of power,
that by this awakening, hearts will be at peace, and Unity brought closer...
The open heart is the worker of miracles on earth…

16. Truth and the open Mind is our greatest Healing…
Merely to know what is possible creates a shift in the heart
...the deeper our knowing & understanding, the greater the shift
How far we take it is our own choice...

18. “Act as if”: A Personal Story
Some years ago I attended an event celebrating the Prophets of God and heralding one in particular.
Confronted with new information, I was taken aback with questions. Rather than judge the new
possibilities with my old ideas, I was cautioned to approach this new information with care, giving it time to
percolate before making any final decision on it.
The realities I approached turned out to be compelling, but confronted me with certain stumbling blocks,
namely:

19. I was not sure if I believed in the presumptions presented:
I was not sure if there was a God for one-- and
1. It would be a big stretch for me to believe in Prophets of God whose spiritual powers were above
those of normal folks.
2. I was unsure about the particular Prophet they were discussing, as I had not heard of this before.
I listened to the teachings of the faith espoused and found myself drawn to its possibilities.

20. Slowly I began to think that :
1. If there was a God, and
2. If there was such a thing as Prophets, then
3. This was probably one of Those great Beings.
4. In the light of the great import of the above points, I was willing to hold my own possibly less
important conflicting beliefs in abeyance for the time being.
As for the mass of the teachings, they were just what one might expect would be needed to
transform an entire civilization and people—yes, they had that potential.
It’s true that not all of the teachings lined up with some of my previously held beliefs, but
admittedly these beliefs were of less consequence than the potential revealed by the mass of the
teaching.
I decided to let go of them for the time being, while following the thread of the Greater Whole…

21. Time Passed…
As I prayed about my withholds, I became less attached to my more mundane or petty ideas
and those of my generation, those that could have obscured my view of the bigger picture and about
which, I came to admit, I may not have had as complete a view as I once believed. I still wasn’t sure
there was a God, and even whether there was such a thing as Prophets, but still believing in my
original precepts, I persevered. Today, thirty- some years later, I am more sure about the tenets of
my faith and the Prophets, but it’s taken most of twenty of those years to gradually come to that.

22. These ideas, I felt, even if one can go no further, are good enough, full enough,
and may be compelling enough (for me) to live a lifetime on.
Here they are, as re- stated for the use of the truth-seeking souls of earth:
1. If there is a God, and
2. If there is such a thing as Prophets, then
3. Is this likely to be one of Those great Beings?
This last question calls for a review of an overview of the mass of the teachings.

23. An overview of the mass of any compelling teachings should reveal:
Are they what could be needed to transform an entire civilization and people?
Do they have that potential? Any assessment of this, no matter how unsure,
may give a simple start…

24. There are a number of both new and old faiths now repeating compelling and transformational ideals
that began to be espoused nearly 200 years ago. One might seek to trace such ideals back to their Origins,
for the greatest power originates in the most compelling aggregation of them…
If you're open to the idea that...
The real power of these movements is in the Person of the Prophet- Manifestation, then
For that investigation, there are clear signs detailed elsewhere.
A loving Higher Power would never leave us without
proofs in this most vital matter.

25. In the light of the great import of a compelling, transformational system possibly being now
available to the mass of people in the form of a Prophetic Mouthpiece of God,
My own and even, possibly, many others'
widely- held beliefs may now be clearly open for a re- assessment.
Such investigation calls for much patience,
and the willingness to live in not knowing for a time.
It calls us to become willing to hold my own conflicting
and very likely not- so- vital beliefs in abeyance for the time being.

26. These are some of the teachings that have influenced me…
My heart tells me—and Prophetic readings too!— that …

27. The True Calling of the Faiths is Unity

28. Any "Way" that could truly open World Healing
would have a core of Spirit as well as Unity.
Both are vital for our planet.
It seems to me that…
A legitimate, healing faith for today would be likely to uphold an absolute prohibition against violence
(can any less keep us out of nuclear disaster?) and much more for the needs of our time ….

29. The needs of Peace may include Equality for all, of whatever sex, race, culture or nation
spiritual Solutions for Politics, Economics and Justice as well as personal & World Problems...
Unity is Key-- Without it, there will be no lasting healing...

30. Dear Friends, I say to you that..
A most compelling faith or Power may well have appeared, combining major forces of Spirit and Unity,
perhaps to meld the diverse peoples as the "fingers of one hand”,
showing forth amazing miracles of Unity in our time...
A Great & Wondrous Power for the Healing of Earth...

31. Would you ever consider this a possibility? That in the end…
The greatest power to inspire radical transformation may be found in no less than
the Person of the Prophet- Manifestation....
Of course,
Any claimant to that possibility must also be subject to certain tests.

32. Is such a Being sound and true, and possessed of truly Super- human power?
Are His proposals transformative beyond and above any human power?
Did such a Prophet suffer for the truths and teachings given?
Why and how could such a One have done this, if not for a strong belief in His Cause?
These are vital verities fairly easy to observe…

33. But this I leave for your investigation and your prayers,
if you should be so inclined…
