Spirituality is about connecting with something greater than oneself to find meaning and purpose. It is both an art and a science. Common spiritual principles include love, finding one's true self, and realizing that what we seek is already within us. Spirituality benefits many areas of life like health, education, psychology, work, leadership, environment, and more. It teaches acceptance, intuition, and living according to higher principles. Spiritual research aims to enlighten humanity about the spiritual dimension and how it shapes our lives, though spiritual matters cannot be fully understood through conventional means alone.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPIRITUALITY AND MATERIALISM IS VERY COMPLEX TO STUDY,WHAT IS MATERIALISM ,WHAT IS SPIRITUALITY ..................HOW TO DEMARCATE THEM AND LIVE A SUCCESSFUL LIFE COMPOSED OF 2 FOLD PURPOSE OF SPIRITUALITY AND MATERIALISM ............ITS NOT AN EASY TASK AND NOT EVERYBODY CAN LIVE IT ..............BELIEVE ME IT WILL MAKE YOU RELIVE.....
The document describes four cardinal virtues: prudence involves making right choices to follow Jesus, justice respects others' rights and avoids selfishness, temperance controls physical and emotional needs, and fortitude provides courage and inner peace to face danger and difficulties while fulfilling duties, as seen in Christian martyrs.
This document is a questionnaire from The Tandem Project, a UN NGO, about human rights and freedom of religion or belief. It asks the respondent to identify their religious beliefs or lack thereof according to UN categories. It then asks a series of questions about the respondent's understanding of the ultimate meaning of life, how they live according to that meaning through ethics and morality, and how intolerance and discrimination based on religion or belief can be addressed. The goal is respectful dialogue on human rights and resolving conflicts related to religion or belief.
The document provides an overview of theological virtues (faith, hope, charity) and moral virtues (prudence, justice, fortitude, temperance). It then discusses theological virtues in more depth, describing what each virtue involves. For example, it states that faith is the virtue by which we believe in God and his revelations, hope is the virtue by which we desire heaven and trust in God's promises, and charity is the virtue by which we love God and our neighbor. The document also briefly outlines moral virtues and their symbolic representations.
This document discusses the compatibility between Christianity and social work. It notes that Christianity has historically led efforts to address social issues like infanticide, slavery, and child labor by founding hospitals, schools, and other social services. The document argues that social work values align with biblical values like serving others, promoting social justice and human dignity. It asserts that Christians are called by Jesus to help the poor and marginalized in his name through social work. Christians should not view social work and their faith as a choice but rather see social work as living out their faith in the real world. The document provides guidance for integrating faith in a way that respects clients' autonomy while allowing Christians to publicly take political stands aligned with scripture.
This document introduces the topic that will be explored in the book - why African Americans pray so often compared to white Americans. It describes two observations the authors had that shaped this question - African American athletes frequently thank God after successes, while this is less common among white athletes. It also describes African Americans often responding "I'm blessed" when asked how they are, whereas white Americans do not as often.
The document then describes an interview with an African American job applicant, Sharon, who described praying in the bathroom before the interview. This led the authors to question if black Christians pray more often than white Christians. It introduces the goal of the book, which is to understand the distinct way African Americans approach and think about Christianity compared
This module aims to provide spiritual care training to participants. It discusses the relationship between religion, spirituality, and pastoral care. Spiritual care involves engaging with others as fellow humans, attending to how people receive care, and supporting what nurtures a person's spirit. When facing death, some common spiritual concerns include relationships/belonging, meaning/self-worth, and coping/control. Effective spiritual care involves listening to a person's story without judgment and building trust.
The document discusses spirituality and social transformation in the context of the Philippines. It talks about reflecting on how individuals can work for positive social change and greater justice. It emphasizes considering issues from societal, environmental, and other structural perspectives rather than just personal experiences. Key figures in Filipino liberation theology such as Henriot, Padillo-Olesen, and Mananzan are discussed. The traditions of the Pasyon and Lakbayan are explored as resources for both resistance and liberation. Nonviolence and risk-taking with empathy (bahala na) are presented as Christian approaches to social change.
The document discusses several topics related to spiritual growth and chelaship (discipleship). It explains that a chela (disciple) alone determines whether chelaship leads to adeptship or failure, and must take personal responsibility for their growth through effort rather than waiting for orders. It also notes that while leading a virtuous life is important, erroneous beliefs can attract negative influences and present a barrier between the chela and their teachers. The chela is responsible for overcoming such barriers through righteous actions that help others and redeem past mistakes.
Can You Be Spiritual Without Being Religious?792206
This document discusses whether a person can be spiritual without being religious. It notes that many millennials identify as "spiritual but not religious". The document defines spirituality as pertaining to the soul or higher consciousness, while defining religion as following eternal spiritual principles and loving God. It concludes that one can be spiritual without following a religious institution but that to make real spiritual progress, guidance from bona fide wisdom texts like the Bhagavad Gita is necessary, and such guidance indicates religion and spirituality are ultimately inseparable.
The document discusses the spirituality of everyday life, which involves elevating ordinary daily activities and experiences to a spiritual level. It involves approaching life with wonder, care for others and the Earth, and gratitude. The spirituality of everyday life develops one's sense of self from an isolated individual to a universal self through themes like how we define needs, success, and social obligations. It provides seven paths for spiritual development in everyday moments and interactions, including living in the present, learning from all experiences, and responsible decision making. This spirituality is presented as necessary to transform society into a "Good Society" that repairs ecological and social problems.

This document discusses building strong religious identities through hospitality rather than hostility. It argues that religious differences alone do not separate people, but rather that people build identities in opposition to others. The document proposes examining core Christian doctrines not as markers of hostility against other faiths, but as "healing teachings" meant to bring unity. It provides examples of reinterpreting doctrines like creation, original sin, election, and the Trinity in a way that could promote solidarity across religious differences. The goal is to develop a strong Christian identity based on benevolence rather than enmity toward other faith traditions.

1) There is currently an epidemic of anxiety in this country. The Co.docxdurantheseldine
1) There is currently an epidemic of anxiety in this country. The Confucius approach would likely be to implement more education and more music into our society to rectify this disharmony. Seeing as anxiety represents the body or mind in a state of alarm- Confucianism would settle to find the source of this uneasiness and set it into harmony. However, a daoist solution might be to stop trying to cure the state of your being and instead allow it to just exist and listen to what these feelings are telling you. Representing this "creative letting-be" would be halting all attempts to mend disrepair and instead allowing the universe to play out as intended. "Repose, tranquility, stillness, inaction- there were the source of all things. Keep this in mind when coming forward to pacify a troubled world, and your merit shall be great and your name illustrious, and the empire united into one" (Perusal Conf.DaoismWWSelection). By pausing all intensive searches for the answer, the solution will find you be simply returning to the source. Both Confucianism and Daoism play deeply into the idea of looking to the past for the answer- and in this passage of Daoist theory, one can take note of the original "past," as it were, of complete tranquility and of therefore, achieving a state of calm with acceptance of the natural order of things.
2) I do not agree that humans are like warped wood. It seems to me that humans are more neutral. We were not given intention upon birth beyond that of surviving and reproducing to further the species. It is vain for mankind to think we were endowed with a certain expectation and intention that differs from any other creature that has touched this earth. What is goodness? Whatever serves our species because
we
made it up. There is no divine moral final stop that tells us life is definitively sacred. Life is sacred because
we
say it is,
probably
because we are alive. "The world is sacred. It can’t be improved (WW Ch. 4)." The Tao states that the real, eternal force is unchanging and that any attempts to shake it's balance are ones made in vain. Humans are a lot like this; we have a set practice of our real needs and intentions and any attempt to shove them aside or just ignore them are unhelpful because they will simply just reemerge.
3) I have been most surprised by the influence of religion and religious practice in each society- some of them even involving human sacrifice which indicates such an attachment and connection to their beliefs. I've always been fascinated by religion and by people's ability and willingness to follow a faith that lacks all reason, evidence, or logic. Of course, before such scientific revelations, it follows that early societies may be far more inclined to lean on a narrative providing an explanation for their observable surroundings. However, the extent to which each culture went about appraising its own belief system (often contrasting with the ones before or around it) truly brought m.
What is spiritual or religious law? What is the point of rules and regulations? Can they be kind gifts or are they harsh prisons? Can spiritual law help us develop our more human side versus living by the limits of animal instincts? Are there natural consequences to certain acts? How do laws or guides help our better side rise to heal this world? What is the evolution of religion in spiritual law? Why are there differences between the various faiths, in their laws and guidelines and what is the truth of their unity?

This document discusses the principles of corporate social responsibility according to various religious teachings. It summarizes lessons from stories in the Bible, Hindu texts, Buddhist teachings, and Islamic sayings. The key lessons are:
1) Do not take the law into your own hands or try to be the judge; justice must be applied equitably.
2) For justice to prevail, blood relationships or other considerations cannot stand in the way.
3) Do not believe things without analyzing whether they are reasonable and benefit all.
4) The first step of faith is helping others by removing obstacles in society.
This document contains advice and guidance from the Teacher of Righteousness on various topics related to living according to religious teachings. New Zealand: Christian Identity in a Multi-Faith Worldbrianmclaren
This document discusses building strong Christian identity in a multi-faith world in a benevolent rather than hostile way. It argues that religious differences alone do not divide people, but rather the tendency to build identity through hostility towards others. It suggests moving beyond seeing doctrines as dividing "centering idols" and instead viewing them as "healing teachings" that can bind people together. The document advocates for specifically teaching one's own religious traditions to children to promote spiritual literacy and understanding of other faiths, rather than taking a vague non-religious approach.
Moreover, Christianity is the main religion that trains its adherents to adore each other. This affection isn't only an outer showcase of BIOL 1001 Week 1 Discussion: The Scientific Approach legalism however infiltrates the heart and creates genuine modesty and administration.

Religions have common elements like belief in supernatural powers, sacred texts or places, rituals, concepts of sin and salvation. The document differentiates religion from spirituality and provides examples of different types of belief systems like theism, pantheism and naturalism.
This document defines key religious concepts and terms to help understand the topics being presented about religion. It defines religion as a set of beliefs and practices focused on deities or gods. Spirituality involves recognizing something greater than oneself. Worldview refers to a collection of beliefs about life and the universe. Theology is the study of religious faith and experiences, especially regarding God. Eastern and Western beliefs are also defined. Pictures related to faith are shown to prompt reflection on what makes one happy about their own faith.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. Transformation for our Hearts and our World-- Part 2
1. May those who have an ear to hear
help to heal the Heart of Humanity.
2. A healing is at hand, and all of us can all be part of it.
Today individual salvation is a futile myth--
All of us are now connected on one earth, and
Answers for the Planet
cannot come with mere "Personal Salvation":
We need-- Salvation for a World!
3. Spirituality has a remedy for commercialism’s greed run riot,
causing heartless war, destruction and planetary peril.
Spirit holds a great potential, and
Our world needs that power greatly!
To awaken spiritual, caring ways is urgent,
yet that cause is greatly thwarted,
for Spirit’s long- time historic advocate has been besmirched.
Although religion has caused hurt and harm
through a past of volatility, misnomers and abuse.
There is great potential in the faiths,
but only when their true unity and oneness
are recognized. Thisis now seen in many circles.
4. Let us seek for remedies of Spirit, turning out
materialism run rampant, the major cause of inhumanity.
Let us open to all Powers for good and Virtue
to help us do what works for us and all the world.
Beware—The Dangers of Pre- Judging
Pre- judgment shuts out truth and can distort and stunt us both
in our individual and planetary healing. Let us free our minds--
The stretch you may find or want to make is not as hard as it seems.
Pre-judgement—prejudice—is contempt before investigation.
Beware lest you let security of viewpoint, a lazy mind or even
ridicule hold your thinking hostage—
For those hurt by misguided faiths there are answers, and kind and
gentle roads to heal the wounded heart.**
Where Spirit is involved, no soul will be left behind.
** Read more in this author’s other works.
5. Religion has long been Spirit’s major vessel—
as promoter and preserver of spirituality.
No matter how much we see that that has been perverted--
Our world needs to allow or tap into
all that could access forces of great power,
especially those relating to Spiritual Powers, which are
the antidote to harmful, overdone materialism!
Sadly, victimizers have used religion to justify and
wield unhealthy power,
but religion's past abuses are undergoing certain healing.
Science’s denial, blind faith, religious war, sexism, racism,
prejudice and other issues have led the people far astray
from what the Prophets ever meant to be.
Some believe religion can be healed for renewed and
healthy purposes.
6. Spirit— key in Unity
We need Spirit’s Power, for a vital miracle of Unity—
which is exactly what we need to heal this world.
If the people would unite behind spiritual and humane causes,
war would be impossible.
Spirit and Unity are closely linked—
Religion, too (as strange as it may sound)
has a strong association with the cause of Unity.
Without unity, neither justice nor peace can be achieved.
Having birthed great civilizations and amazing transformations,
The faiths, used rightly, have great
power for uniting.*
7. Spiritconnects us to our unity.
Unity is an essential quality of Spirit.
Attached to a Spirituality of Oneness, that unity holds a
power vital for the healing of our world.*
To reclaim Spirit for the cause of unity
our oneness and religion's oneness must be proclaimed
in all the world, as well as past abuses healed and healing
Although wrongly used to pit one people against another,
religion's past abuses are being set to rights, including:
Religious War, Blind Faith, Racism, Sexism, Prejudice, Science’s Denial,
and all misnomers thatmislead and inspire fear, Inequality and other harms.
8. Power for Unity
To Build Unity— as related to all entities, including religion
calls for :
Common*¹ values, interests, social group, etc.
Universality-- The more shared qualities applicable to all in the
group) the greater unity's potential.
Diversity-- When a unified group includes more diverse elements
who also fit what’s listed here, the power of their unity is greatly
enhanced...*²
Coherence—as in a body of organized thought *³
Organization -- Specific, clear organization empowers unity and
focused power. Note this, however
9. Unity increases with……
Alignment with other powers, such as a parent organization,
religion, state, or nation, perhaps including...
Alignment with 'Spirit'— “Higher Being”/ "Something Greater"
that can increase the Power of anything.
Do you notice here, that
All the Powers that build Unity (as listed here)
can be amply found
in the vessel of religion!*
Religion, with a healing of its past misnomers
would be a most amazing power for the cause of unity!
*Notable in somefaiths morethan others.
10. “Organized Religion” and Spirituality?
Some say the two are incompatible--
Organization has been seen as a “nasty word”
as in the term “organized religion”--
Organization is vital for community living.
For example, I wonder—
Without religion’s long- time organized support for Spirit,
would anyone at all even be relating to or discussing
spiritual matters today?
11. Religion— To Hate it, Reject it or possibly to Heal it?
The very thought of religious faith has been a thorn to many, due to
past abuses and misuses of power- hungry agents.
Spirit is not at fault – and though the ways of men have harmed
religion, the faiths have also been a Source of human civilizing.
Without religion, where would Spirit & the people be today?
When we reject and put religion down, does that add to all the
issues in the way of bringing Spirit to the forefront of our world?
Wouldn’t it be better to respect all paths that aspire to the Spirit?
Without religion’s long support for Spirit’s ways, would we even
be thinking or talking about spiritual matters now?
Ibelieve there can be Healing for Religion--
12. Misplaced Motives of the Faiths
Religion has perpetrated:
Religious Wars, Inequality, Racism, blind faith and science’s denial,
Sexism, prejudice and spiritual abuse including harsh and
judgmental authority, rigidity, hypocrisy, and more.
Yet we can still believein
A Healing Faith for Our World
strongly counteracting past abuses --
supporting Non-Violence & Peace without withholds.
calling for true justice, equality in race, sex, religion & nationality.
Open-mindedness, flexibility, honesty, tolerance, loving kindness
and Unity would be its hallmarks.
Such a thing is in the world, as well as modern
faith groups and interfaith embodying unity and virtue.
13. Any "Way" truly open for World Healing
would have a core of goodly, Godly Spirit, including:
1)-- It would come from & call forth great Power,
strongly grounded in Godspirit.
2)-- It cannot exclude any large groups of people from working
together as accepted equals.
AND
3) It must provide tools to re-make our world,
much more than a vague wish or ideal--
4) A pleasing Order, clearly defined with guidelines for
healthy institutions and roles
In short, an artful, inspiring, astounding, globally unifying
Master Plan arising out of a most powerful Source of Truth...

All Religion is from the same Source, and
if religion becomes a cause of disunity,
it is better to do without it!*-- Baha’i Teaching
14. The Spiritualization of all Humanity …
Is the coming into Love, truth of the heart and our
connectedness, openingto Spirit and solutions to amaze.
It is seeking out and finding a deeper Source that feeds and
can fuel the vital prospect of our Unity, yet valuing diversity,
justice and equality of sex, class and race, and especially
provision for the healthy spiritualization of humanity and other
vital issues of our times.
I believe that we can see this in its infancy.
I see its hopefulness and see it building up its strength.
15. Honoring all ways to Soul
For some, spiritualitymay involvethe religion of their choice,
while others may reach for more varied pathways.
Let us abstain from putting down the choice of anyone, as
that can harm the vital cause of love and unity so essential for
the vital healingof our world.
I respect the guidanceof each heart, no matter what my
choices for myself.
The Heart’s Investigation is a vitalpart of human destiny.
Its become more urgent now than ever to strive to reach for
Something Greater than the mind.
16. To Weigh A Cause
Our attachment to opinionbecomes a block to truth when
we judge by our own likes, dislikes, and our sometimes not-so –
recognized humanlyfallibleopinionsand standards.
The Prophets and truth-seekers say to judge by the standard
of Gods Greater Spirit, meaning letting go of our oft- revered
opinions. We can do this in meditationor by many methods of
detachment, such as praying or asking with deep sincerity to be
wholly freed of self and alldesire.
To surrender these, to submit our very being and our way of
life to the tests of truth is seeing with the eye of the Infinite, of
God-Spirit, rather than our own finite selves.
This is the highest standard of investigation.
17. We are challenged and "tested" or deterred from truth by
our desire to be "right" and have our lives "our own way", even
though that may not be best in the longer run for us or for the
world. No one knows the whole truth, but if we start with a
blank and open slate, with no agenda, we can then be led more
likely to a truly Higher place than that of self.
In overcoming self we may receive truth untainted,
to make great strides in life and in the life of Spirit.
18. Truth has answers for our world,
Surely Spirit has them in its storehouse --
Let us commit ourselves to seek & find them
and to block no avenues of possibility.
Whatever answers are true surely will hold healing for us all.
To Trust…
Most of us, at some time, have found it in us to step forward, to
investigate a way not knowing where it may lead us. Let us trust,
knowing a way will appear if we keep on going for the Highest that
we can find.
Faith is in believing, that somehow what will come will be for
the very Highest good of ourselves and all.
May we have the faith to seek, believe and
serve the Higher Good!
19. True Friend ofSpirit
There may be such a Power on our planet, combining
Spirit, Unityand Soul, melding diverse peoples as the
"fingers of one hand",showing forth amazing idealsand
miracles of unity and power, with respite for religion’s past
betrayals and sharing answers for a just and healing world.
I believe there is such a power, and it may well be the
Source and impetus behind today’s related movements.
It may not be a “perfect” answer fitting all we think it should at
first, but let us keep an open mind to find the greatest possible
potentialfor the healingof our time.
Would you seek to investigate or find this?
If not, then please indulge me while I speak to those who may.
20. I believe most strongly that we are all impelled, those of all
faiths and the rebels of religion too, onto a path of healing,
The sooner and closer we tap into it and learn its truths,
the sooner human suffering will subside.
Could there be such a Power, perhaps even from religion,
with remedies for a modern age, that even may be speaking from
a vessel of Something Greater than the human voice,
inspired from deep love and revering kind Divinity.
I believe there is such power and it gives me hope,
though all may not ascribe to it.
With what I see before me,
There may even be a faith with healing for religion--
prohibiting violence with vital force and clarity
championing Justice, Peace, co-operation, equity, health,
a pure environment and human sanity and sensibility.
21. If there is such a faith or healing way, does that mean that
all must join it, for the healing of humanity??
Not at all (and thank God for that) – for me, that could mean
that our world’s healing might be too far away for hope!
(I told you this was sane & sensible!)
Urgent needs for healing call to all of us,
and perhaps a Voice of Ages can be heard as well.
We can trust our lives to this investigation & endeavor,
for any healthy answers surely must holdgood for
thinkers and believersand for the rebel in us too!
22. For the cause of sorely needed Peace and healing
and the sweet bounty of the open heart,
Let us raise the call to Spirit and set aside all fears,
pre-judgment or beliefs of limitation, supporting the hurt and healing
ones so that all may grow in Spirit’s closeness.
May the hearts awaken to embrace forgiveness and healing allowing
for all possibilities for the needs of a harassed humanity.
And now may I invite you, if you’re among the
readers here who thirst for something more…
Whether you believe in what I say or not--
It may be good to know that there could be a Source for
the greater healing of humanitythat may come from
Something more than meets the eye, maybe even Something
on our side that may have more than human power!!
23. "Let the Friends be as close as sheaves of Light..."*, and
Let it be this generation to bring forth the banner of Peace.
We need to do that!

25. * Notes
* Call it Mind, Creative mind, spirit, soul, God, god- nature, or asyou will—
Spiritis bigger than the animal nature & needs feeding....
The Power of Unity is increased with:
*¹ The moreCommonalities shared within a group, the greater their
potential unity.
*² Organizations areseeking more Diversity in staffing, especially in the
"think tank" areas of business, as they recognizethe vastincrease of
resources with the addition of wider views shared within a group, the
greater their potential unity.
*² The creation of unity in diversity ("in spite of" differences) is powerfulfor
our times & needs further study.
*³ A coherent body of beliefs: the more clear & specific, the closer the unity
of the group, & the morepowerfulthat unity; ie.: individuals acting
randomly without knowledgeof one another's actions, does not constitute
unity, whereas an army that marches in step does so becauseits power is
increased by that very act alone.
*4 Organization of thought and action promote more unified action. Clear,
written plans and goals generally increase unity and yield more direct,
powerfulresults.
26. Notes FYI-- Deep Roots
The root of these ideas for a healthy, loving faith (should you investigate) may begin in the mid
1800’s with the advent of a Prophet- Founder, a Being of great mastery by any reckoning.
He foretold the need of unity, and prescribed a suite of remedies such as are namedhere for our
modern era. Many movements now have sprung from these very values, showing forth great
vigor, value and compelling power. Many add more power yet can obscure the source or root
from which the power flows. And that is the greater Power that inspires me. The Founder of
that path was Baha’u’llah, whose followers are called Baha’is. More at Bahai.org.
