Triple Talaq, or instant divorce, allows Muslim men in India to legally divorce their wives by stating the word "talaq" three times, orally, in writing, or electronically. It has been challenged in courts as being discriminatory against women. While some Muslim groups support the practice based on religious tradition, others see it as open to misuse without proper arbitration. The Indian Supreme Court and some high courts have ruled against the practice as unconstitutional and a violation of women's rights.
