- When it comes to social networking, I think people fall into three categories: Can’t remember life without Facebook, My Space, Twitter, LinkedIn… FB is their home page, the are “Tweet’-ing constantly, you can map their life in their blog The second group is dabbling... Might have a few pictures on Facebook, accept the occasional invite for some Group or another, wonders how their kids have all this time on the keyboard And then the last Group… I think I know about all of these things, but wondering why?
- If the members of the Chamber understand some of the Features of LinkedIn, they will be able to PICTURE the benefits to them and their businesses
- All you really need to do is think about where you have been: Schools Jobs Organizations Honors Groups of various kinds
- Account Profile Settings – Profile, Photo, Public Profile, Manage Recommendations, Status Visibility, Member Feed Visibility Email Notifications – Indicates when you will receive Privacy Settings – There are eight settings that govern what you see and what others see Groups – Groups that you want to join, and ones that you want to start… but more later My Network – How are you going to use your Network
- One of the most important decisions to make about Options is whether you want to become a LION- A LINKEDIN OPEN NETWORKER This is a person who accepts any and all invitations to become a “Contact” just by the fact that they get invited… You will see then because they have 4000 or 5000 Contacts Most LinkedIn experts suggest that you target becoming a LION and I suggest that you initially have a few as Contacts to see what it is about Some of these people are very prolific question anwer-ers and have a perspective on LinkedIn that might be helpful Find one in your industry
