Dreamcatchers
The Ojibwe people originated the dreamcatcher. They believed dreamcatchers hung above a sleeper would catch bad dreams in its webby pattern while letting good dreams pass through. Traditionally, Ojibwe only used dreamcatchers for children as adults should interpret their own dreams. The Ojibwe are a large Native American group known for crafts like birch bark canoes and use of cowry shells for trading. Cowry shells have historically been used as currency in many parts of the world and still used in jewelry and decorations. Beachcombing involves searching beaches for items washed ashore, a popular pastime for finding seashells and other curiosities.
Lukay Art in Cebu A Heritage of Living Traditions
