Dr. Agnis Stibe is a Sociotech Designer at MIT Media Lab. He has worked for a number of Fortune 100 companies such as Hewlett-Packard and Oracle. Dr. Stibe has twice been recognized by the Minister of Education and Science of Latvia for his long-term creative work. Agnis envisions future Persuasive Cities that are encouraging healthy and sustainable routines. He believes that our world can become a better place through purposefully designed urban spaces that successfully blend technological advancements with human nature. His research is built upon socio-psychological theories to design Socially Influencing Systems (SIS) for health behavior change at scale. However, there is scarce scientific knowledge available on negative outcomes of behavior change interventions, and possibly even fewer that report a special type of negative outcome, called a backfire. In this paper, we start a wider scientific discussion on intervention backfiring. We introduce a framework to help facilitate the debate of this topic. We provide tools to aid academics in the study of this realm and support practitioners to remain mindful of the potential risks when designing behavior change interventions. We describe taxonomy of persuasive backfiring and propose tools in the form of intention-outcome and likelihood-severity matrices to outline a roadmap for further research and application. We open transparent discussion on backfiring, with an attitude of looking out and coming up with strategies to reduce them whenever identified.

We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development. This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.

Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails.
