8 Steps to Bring
Transformational Growth to
Your Business
by david r frick
EVERY owner wants growth.
But what kind do you want?
Linear growth
Exponential (transformational) growth
To get exponential growth, you must
transform your business!
To get exponential growth, you must
transform your business!
1. Decide the following:
That you want it! AND that you deserve it.
Decide what you are willing to
invest/change to achieve it (hint: The vast
majority of your current systems and habits will not
survive the transformation).
Detail the things that ignite your passions,
creativities, and curiosities.
2. Write it down in clear language.
Refine ideas into simple terms or concepts
that you can explain to others.
Write down fears & considerations clearly
as well. Only once we admit them can we
see ways to overcome them.
End dreams and desires with
“… or something better”.
3. Share your dreams with others.
Share them with everybody. Say it like your
6yr old niece says she is going to be an
astronaut or firefighter – with conviction.
Some will listen, offer to help, want to join.
Most will ignore or laugh at your idea.
Accept help along your journey.
It is not possible to do everything yourself.
4. Act daily towards dreams & desires.
Meditation is an action; as are planning,
writing, talking, sharing, and engaging.
Take chances, gambles, guesses, and half-
brained attempts without fear.
Keep diligent notes on your results and
what you learn from such action.
5. Learn what you don't know.
Know enough to ask worthwhile questions
and call someone out on BS.
Any topic can be boiled down into basic
fundamentals to follow.
Books, blogs, & webinars offer big learning
for little investment.
6. Celebrate often!
Having lots of appropriately-sized and
properly-timed celebrations helps keep you
and your team focused on growing.
Catch others doing great stuff; even if it is only
approximately great.
Appreciation and gratitude can be expressed in
millions of different ways.
7. Track your progress.
What things need to be measured daily,
weekly, monthly, or annually? Every 5 yrs?
Dedicate yourself to a 20-year journey with
lots of milestones, challenges, & victories.
Documenting and tracking progress helps
provide powerful insights and positive
momentum.
8. Help others along their journey.
Share ideas, information, and experiences
or volunteer to speak with kids in school.
Help someone else accelerate through, or
avoid challenges that slowed you earlier.
Every day is not only a chance to learn
something new; but to help someone else
learn as well.
“There is no such thing as magic
pixie dust that makes your
business grow. It is the result of
simple things done with rigor and
daily discipline.”
