This document provides a rubric for evaluating writing at grades K-2 based on 6+1 Trait® criteria. It evaluates writing on main idea, details and support, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions. For each trait, it provides descriptors to distinguish between writing that is not yet proficient versus writing that is proficient at various levels from beginning to exceptional. The rubric is intended to help assess writing and provide guidance for areas of improvement.
