TRADITIONAL SPANISH TALES

Most of the traditional tales that
Spanish flocklore has are similar to
some European countries. We are
going to show you a selection of them.
CAPERUCITA ROJA
LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD
• This tale is about a girl who walks through
  the woods to deliver food to her sick
  grandmother. And she finds a wolf in the
  forest. The wolf tries to eat little red riding
  hood and her grandmother, but finally he
  fails and run away.
RICITOS DE ORO
GOLDILOCKS
• Goldilocks goes far from home and arrives
  upon the house of the three bears. First
  sitting in all of their chairs and tasting all of
  their porridge, then lying in all of their beds
  she finds the little baby bears the most
  suitable for her in all three cases.
LOS TRES CERDITOS
THE THREE LITTLE PIGS
• Three little pigs leave home to seek their fortunes.
  Two pigs build their houses of flimsy materials. The
  wolf blows down their houses and eats them up. The
  third pig builds his house out of brick, which the wolf
  cannot blow down. The wolf then asks the pig to get
  turnips, pick apples, and go to the fair. Each time the
  pig goes an hour earlier, tricking the wolf. At the fair,
  the pig sees the wolf. The pig escapes by rolling home
  in a butter churn. The wolf comes to the pig's house,
  climbs onto the roof, and jumps into a pot of boiling
  water.

CINDERELLA
• Cinderella's father remarries a cold, cruel woman who has two
  daughters, Drizella and Anastasia. When the father dies,
  Cinderella's wicked stepmother turns her into a servant in her
  own house. Meanwhile, across town in the castle, the King
  determines that his son the Prince should find a suitable bride and
  provide him with a required number of grandchildren. So the King
  invites every eligible maiden in the kingdom to a fancy dress ball,
  where his son will be able to choose his bride. Cinderella has no
  suitable party dress for a ball, but her friends the mice, lead by
  Jaques and Gus, and the birds lend a hand in making her one, a
  dress the evil stepsisters immediately tear apart on the evening of
  the ball. At this point, enter the Fairy Godmother, the pumpkin
  carriage, the royal ball, the stroke of midnight, the glass slipper,
  and the rest, as they say, is fairy tale history.

• Princess Aurora is cursed by the evil witch
  Maleficent - who declares that before Aurora
  reaches her 16th birthday she will die by a
  poisoned spinning-wheel. To try to prevent
  this, the king places her into hiding, in the
  care of three goodnatured - but not too
  bright - fairies.
