The original World Cup trophy was called the Jules Rimet Trophy. It was stolen twice, once in England in 1966 and once in Brazil in 1983. A replacement trophy was introduced in 1974 called the FIFA World Cup Trophy. Unlike the Jules Rimet Trophy, teams only maintain possession of the new trophy for four years before returning it to FIFA.
